ANTIGO – The esteemed Kids from Wisconsin musical troupe will be hosting two shows on July 19, 2 and 7 p.m., at the Antigo High School. This year’s line-up of young virtuosos includes the talent of local musicians Doug Benishek and Isaac Cuellar for the 2016 lineup.

Benishek, a recent graduate from Antigo High School, will join the Kids from Wisconsin troupe for the second year. The Kids from Wisconsin showcases the most talented youth in a full musical revue for all ages, consisting of 20 singers/dancers and a 13-piece show band that performs inspiring, entertaining, musical productions to over 100,000 people each summer.

Doug was in a variety of ensembles, ranging from the competitive marching band to a barbershop quartet. He had also been selected as part of several regional and statewide honors bands- most notably, the WSMA State Honors Orchestra.

Some of his favorite performance credits include: the UWMC Jazz Ensemble, exemplary solos at State Solo and Ensemble, and Albert in Bye Bye Birdie.

Doug plans to study pre-medical neuroscience with a music minor. He is overjoyed to be back with the KIDS again.

Cuellar, also an Antigo High School graduate, has been chosen to join the Kids from Wisconsin troupe for the second year on piano. Kids from Wisconsin showcases the most talented youth in a full musical revue for all ages, consisting of 20 singers/dancers and a 13-piece show band that performs inspiring, entertaining, musical productions to over 100,000 people each summer.

Isaac Cuellar completed his freshman year at the University of Minnesota, where he studies under esteemed music faculty and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy. When he is not studying and practicing, Issac enjoys the percussive marching arts and has worked with several DCI and WGI groups to work on his skill and technique. He also sings tenor with the internationally acclaimed barbershop chorus, The Great Northern Union.

Brennon Brown, also from Antigo and soon to be a senior at AHS, was also selected as an alternate for the troupe this season.

The event in Antigo is sponsored on behalf of the Antigo Rotary Club. To view the entire troupe and the complete Kids from Wisconsin tour schedule with information, visit www.kidsfromwisconsin.org .
