Matt Young, a student at Antigo High School, is battling Hodgkins lymphoma, a disease that affects the lymphatic system (as part of the immune system). As Matt’s friends joined together to support him by shaving their heads recently, Matt’s family and friends have decided to throw a fundraising event in the style of one of he and his comrade’s favorite pastimes – hockey.

The Cross Checking Cancer for Matt benefit features a floor hockey tournament that will be held at the Antigo Middle School (815 7th Ave) on Saturday, February 11 at 10 am. Team admission fees are just $25 per team and include an event t-shirt for each player on the six-person teams.

Concessions will be available, along with a bake sale, 50/50 raffle, and a raffle table. Hockey equipment will be provided for players and event t-shirts for non-participants will be available for $6. Please order the t-shirts before January 25.
