ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, March 6th
11:41 AM Officers responded to a report that a rusty, dark colored dump truck took down some wires on 5th Avenue because its dump box was raised up. It was last seen traveling east on 5th Avenue. There were multiple lines down. Dispatch contacted the cable company.
3:48 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Memory Lane reporting that a male customer had trashed a room and was not being cooperative. The male subject had left the water running in the room all day, flooding the room and causing water to drip through the floor to the room below. The male subject was being cooperative. He was cleaning up the water.
5:38 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Clermont Street and Ackley Street. The driver was cited for speed.
10:04 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Farwell Avenue. The driver was cited for speed.
10:57 PM Officers were out at an area business on Edison Street. A male subject was arrested for bail jumping.
Tuesday, March 7th
7:49 AM Officers responded to a call from West Elementary School reporting that a student found a needle and brought it into the school. The school placed the needle in a Sharps container. Officers spoke with the children that found the needle about the dangers of picking up needles.
12:00 PM Officers cited a male student for disorderly conduct for a fight that occurred at the Antigo Middle School on 3/3/17.
12:05 PM Officers cited a male student for possession of tobacco. He had chewing tobacco on his person.
11:03 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 4th Avenue and Pine Street. The driver was cited operating while suspended and having no proof of insurance.
1:47 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Clermont Street and Birch Street. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense. He was also cited for operating without proof of insurance and was also given a written warning for a defective headlight.
Wednesday, March 8th
3:49 AM Officers received three 911 calls from a small child on Dorr Street. Officers warned the child’s mother about the misuse of the 911 system and she was told that if it happened again, she may be issued a citation.
7:27 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Deresch Street. The driver was given a 10-day correction notice for an expired registration.
1:13 PM Officers received a call from a female subject reporting that she had been in an accident with another female subject on 1-19-17 and had attempted to contact the other female to arrange payment for damages and injuries. The meeting did not go well. The female caller asked officers to put the information on file. She told officers that she now had an attorney that would be handling the matter.
2:30 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on 7th Avenue. The driver was cited for operating while suspended.
3:20 PM Officers responded to a two vehicle crash at Dorr Street and 5th Avenue. There were no injuries.
3:20 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on Neva Road. The driver was given a warning about their registration.
10:00 PM Officers responded to an anonymous report of smelling marijuana in an apartment building on Lincoln Street. Officers were able to locate some drugs and drug paraphernalia. A male subject was referred to the district attorney’s office for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Thursday, March 9th
12:49 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Deleglise Street. The driver was cited for no insurance and was given a 10 day written notice for an expired registration.
1:55 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 8th Avenue and Edison Street. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
8:43 PM Officers responded to a traffic complaint of vehicles “racing and ripping around” on Superior Street. The female caller told officers that she and other drivers had to get out their way. Officers stopped a vehicle at an area business on Superior Street. The subject was warned about their driving habits and a loud exhaust.
9:12 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hudson Street and 7th Avenue. Officers were involved in a physical altercation and foot chase with two male subjects that had been in the vehicle. Both male subjects fled the scene and were still at large. Their vehicle was towed and impounded.
Friday, March 10th
12:07 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Edison Street reporting that a male patron refused to leave the business. The male subject was in a physical altercation with another male subject, after the first male subject made some advances towards the other male subject’s wife. Both male subjects were cited for disorderly conduct.
12:29 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 7th Avenue and Clermont Street. The driver was cited for non-registration.
12:55 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 8th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and no proof of insurance.
1:37 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Clermont Street. The driver was cited for unnecessary acceleration.
1:33 PM Officers received a call from a female from Waukesha reporting that her father’s credit card had been fraudulently used to pay some phone bills totaling almost $3,700.00. She told officers that this information had been reported to his bank the day before and they had closed his account.
2:03 PM Officers referred a male student for possession of a weapon, other than a firearm, on school premises at Antigo High School for having three knives in his possession.
8:06 PM Officers received a call from a female on Hudson Street reporting that her car had been egged. She told officers that nothing was missing from the vehicle.
8:09 PM Officers received a call from another female on Hudson Street reporting that her vehicle had been egged.
8:45 PM Officers received a call from a female on Fulton Street reporting that her two vehicles had been egged. 3/11/17 2:09 PM The female called back to tell officers that some chips of paint were missing on the driver’s side door and front fender of one of her vehicles.
9:09 PM Officers were advised that another vehicle was egged at Fulton Street and 2nd Avenue.
10:53 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Freiburger Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for registration.
11:33 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 7th Avenue and Field Street. The driver was cited for operating while suspended and no proof of insurance.
11:58 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 3rd Avenue. The female driver was cited for operating with a restricted controlled substance and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A female passenger was cited for open intoxicants and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and another female passenger was cited for open intoxicants.
Saturday, March 11th
2:35 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Clermont Street. The driver was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign. A traffic education class was offered.
11:02 AM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that her Chevy Colorado truck was struck while she was in an area business on Neva Road. It was a hit and run. A voluntary accident report was completed.
3:04 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Watson Street and 10th Avenue. Officers arrested a male passenger on a probation hold per the Department of Corrections. Officers located a syringe and the same male subject admitted using meth within the last few days.
Sunday, March 12
12:05 AM Officers were out with a male subject at 5th Avenue and Edison Street. The male subject was cited for intoxicants off premise.
12:30 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that a male subject had come in, went directly into the bathroom and hadn’t come out. They suspected that he may be doing drugs. Officers located the male subject in the men’s room. He was not causing a disturbance, but was clearly under the influence of some sort of stimulant. The subject was transported to a relative’s apartment.
3:22 AM Officers responded to a call from Langlade Hospital for a female subject with a possible overdose that was being disorderly in the emergency room. The female subject had refused treatment and she had been disrespectful to hospital staff. The female subject was cited for disorderly conduct and was released to her parents.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Thursday, March 9th
12:26 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Cty. Rd. G and Cty. Rd. X. The male driver was cited for operating without a license. A male passenger was arrested on Department of Corrections and Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrants, carrying a concealed weapon, obstructing and a probation hold.
7:57 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he hit a bear on Hwy. 64 at Cty. Rd. BB. The caller had front end damage to his vehicle. He told officers that the bear was still alive in the roadway. The bear was dispatched.
Saturday, March 11th
1:38 PM Officers were with a vehicle behind an area business on Hwy. 64. Officers observed a female subject slumped over, who appeared to be unconscious. Officers were finally able to awaken the female. The female subject was arrested on a Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrant, operating while intoxicated, 1st offense, felony bail jumping, possession of cocaine and possession of meth with intent to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
7:58 AM Officers received a call from a female subject on W. 1st Avenue reporting that her rental car was missing. It was a dark gray Nissan Versa 4 door. She told officers that the rental papers were in the car, the keys were in the car, and she did not know how much gas was in the vehicle. She last saw the car at 9:00 PM the night before. A short time later, the Shawano County Sheriff’s office advised officers that they had the vehicle in their impound, after it was involved in a chase the night before. They did not have the driver. Officers were investigating.
8:27 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a vehicle was northbound on Hwy. 45 at Cty. Rd. D and it was swerving over the centerline and fogline. The caller told officers that she was traveling at about 55 MPH and the other driver was pulling away from her. The driver was last seen at Hwy. 45 and Forrest Road. Officers stopped the vehicle and advised the male driver about the traffic complaint.
Monday, March 13th
12:48 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that an early 90’s red Dodge Dakota pickup appeared to have run into a pole on Cty. Rd. HH west of Pleasant View School in the north ditch. The male owner of the vehicle then called officers and told them that he was home and would call his own wrecker. The vehicle was towed and WPS was notified about the pole. Officers found a marijuana pipe outside of the truck on the passenger’s side. They talked with the male driver and his girlfriend who denied that it was theirs. Officers told the male subject that if they didn’t find out who the pipe belonged to, he would be referred for possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers also found unburnt marijuana in the pipe. They were investigating.
Tuesday, March 14th
9:04 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a maroon car blew through a stop sign at the Cty. Rd B, Cty. Rd. S and Hwy. 52 intersection going about 75 MPH. The caller told officers that the vehicle was currently going eastbound on Hwy. 52. He gave officers the license plate number of the vehicle. Officers went to the registered owner’s address in Pickerel and located the vehicle in the driveway. No one answered the door. Officers were following up.
