Jacob Rydberg, 21, was accused in November of 2016 with shouting vulgarities and committing damages to two area churches, St. John and St. Hyacinth Catholic Churches, in Antigo. Charges have now been made under the category of  “[making a] terrorist threat”  that were brought up last week on March 14.

The terrorist threat was reported after Rydberg was pulled over on Hwy. 64 last Tuesday for operating without both a license and insurance. Rydberg also faces a felony bail jumping charge that was issued alongside the terrorist threat claims.

Official information on the threats will be provided soon, but reportedly Rydberg had mentioned committing harm to local law enforcement via social media and upon arrest.

The original charges of disorderly conduct and criminal damages to property, including that of a church, are still pending and are scheduled to be discussed at a status conference on May 12.

Both the terrorist threats and the felony bail jumping are state crimes. An initial appearance for the charges is also set for May 12 at the Langlade County Courthouse.
