ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS

Monday, May 8^th

11:56 AM Officers responded to an anonymous report of dogs barking at an address on Clermont Street. The caller told officers that it had been happening day and night. While on the phone with the caller, officers could hear lots of barking. Officers had given two previous warnings to the female owner of the dogs about barking. Officers cited the female subject for dogs at large.

3:37 PM Officers cited a female student at Antigo High School for disorderly conduct.

7:36 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10^th Avenue and Milton Street. Officers arrested a male subject on a Langlade Count warrant for failure to pay a fine for operating while suspended.

8:00 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on Superior Street. The male driver was cited for operating while suspended.

9:01 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on 10^th Avenue reporting that when she came home, her trailer was full of smoke. She believed a candle had started a fire. Officers found out that a daughter of the female caller had grabbed a blanket, and in the process, knocked a lit candle on some paper igniting the paper. The fire was put out with a fire extinguisher by a neighbor.

Tuesday, May 9^th

1:39 AM Officers were out with a female subject on 5^th Avenue. She was arrested on a Langlade County warrant for failure to pay a fine for open containers off premise.

2:12 AM Officers received a call from the Rawhide Boys Ranch in New London reporting that a juvenile male subject from Antigo ran away from their facility. Officers were advised. The subject was entered as a runaway.

10:05 AM A female subject came to the Safety Building to report possible fraud. The incident involved another female subject who lied to a judge about paying rent. The reporting female was able to prove that the other female subject lied in court. After officers talked to the District Attorney, the female subject was charged with perjury.

4:23 PM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting that a black Pontiac Grand Am was driving erratically at 5^th Avenue and Superior Street. The caller told officers that the driver was speeding, passing, cutting off vehicles and did a wide turn at 5^th Avenue and Superior Street, causing the caller to almost hit the median. The caller gave officers the license plate number of the vehicle.

9:05 PM Officers responded to a call from an employee of an area business on Superior Street reporting a gas drive off. The vehicle was a maroon Oldsmobile Alero. It was last seen northbound on Hwy. 45. The suspects were two male subjects. The driver was described as a white male wearing a hoodie and the passenger was an African-American male. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle. The business was going to view their video and contact officers with any further information.

11:37 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Willard Avenue. The driver was cited for operating a vehicle after registration suspension and no proof of insurance.

Wednesday, May 10^th

11:32 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on Center Street reporting damage to a vehicle that she was in the process of buying, a maroon Pontiac Grand Am. She told officers that the damage occurred sometime between 9:00 PM the night before and sometime that morning. She also told officers that this was the second time that she has had problems with someone messing around with her vehicle. This time the unknown suspects let all the air out of one tire. There was no other damage.

12:27 PM Antigo High School requested an officer for two students that were smoking marijuana.

1:34 PM Officers responded to call reporting that an old, red S10 truck hit a tree and then drove on. The front end of the truck was dented in. It was last seen turning north on Weix Street. Officers received a second call stating that the vehicle was a red Ford Ranger. Officers located the vehicle in front of a residence on Weix Street. The male driver was cited for inattentive driving. A state report was filed.

4:27 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that two young children, about 4-5 years old, were hanging on a tree over the water, behind an area business on 5^th Ave. The caller had told the children to get down, but they then went right back on it. Officers located the children who were then being supervised by their mother.

5:35 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that his scooter was stolen from an area business on Clermont Street. The scooter was described as green and black with a skull on it and the handle bars had a rip. The caller told officers that the incident was on video and it occurred at 4:32 PM. Officers identified the suspects on the video and the scooter was returned.

11:00 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5^th Avenue and Park Street. The female driver was given a written warning for failure to stop at a stop sign.

11:25 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Arctic Street reporting that someone was prowling around outside by her garage. Officers located a male subject on the back porch with a 12 pack of beer. Officers checked with the female caller, who told officers that she knew the person, but she wanted him to leave. The male subject left on his bicycle.

Thursday, May 11^th

12:12 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Mendlik Avenue. The driver was cited for speed.

8:41 AM Officers cited a male student for disorderly conduct at the Antigo Middle School for yelling swear words at a teacher 2-3 times in front of about 100 other students and then refusing to follow the principal to the office until law enforcement was notified.

12:32 PM Officers responded to a call from North Elementary school requesting an officer for a 4^th grade male student that was out of control. The student had been yelling, throwing items at staff, running from staff and refusing to listen. Officers got the student to calm down and they had a long talk with him. Officers were called back for the same male student around 2:30 PM. Officers took the student to his grandparent’s house.

3:40 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on 5^th Avenue reporting loud music coming from an upstairs apartment and swearing by a female subject outside the business during business hours. The female subject was warned about the loud music and swearing.

5:37 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that they apprehended a female subject who had pushed a cart of merchandise out of the store without paying for it. She was being a bit belligerent. Officers referred the female subject for felony retail theft.

6:15 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting a shoplifter. Officers arrested one female subject for retail theft and she was cited for operating without a license. Officers also cited a second female subject for retail theft.

6:21 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a small two year old boy was wondering around by an area business on Superior Street with no adult around. Officers found out that the boy had gotten out of the family’s house on 2^nd Avenue without anyone knowing. The family had been out looking for him. They were reunited.

Friday, May 12^th

3:11 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 3^rd Avenue. The driver was given a 10 day correction notice for an expired registration.

10:18 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on 5^th Avenue. The female driver was referred for operating without a license, 2^nd offense.

2:14 PM Officers responded to an area business on Neva Road reporting that a former employee was being disruptive and swearing in front of customers. Officers warned the male subject about his behavior. He was told not to return to the business or he would be cited or arrested.

4:40 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he hit a sign in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. An accident report was completed.

8:59 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Edison Street reporting that a male patron was very intoxicated and had been asked to leave several times, but was refusing. Officers gave the male subject a ride to his residence on Cherry Street.

Saturday, May 13^th

3:01 AM Officers responded to an anonymous caller reporting that there were drunk people out on the road at 6^th Avenue and Deleglise Street. The caller stated there was a female subject lying on the road that was kicked by a male subject. The female then started walking towards Deleglise Street and 5^th Avenue on the sidewalk. The female subject was described as wearing dark clothes. The caller did not know where the male subject went. Officers found out that the male and female subjects lived on Elm Street. They were trying to walk home, but the male subject had too much to drink. The male subject tried to hide from officers behind an oak tree. The male subject was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Dane County.

3:43 AM Officers received a call from a male subject on Birch Street requesting a ride. After a few questions, it was determined that the male caller needed an ambulance, stating that there was something wrong with his heart. He was told that an ambulance would be paged. The male subject refused the ambulance, stating that he just wanted a ride. He then hung up. Officers then received another call from the male subject again requesting a ride. The caller again refused an ambulance. He told officers that he wanted a ride or he would drive himself. The male subject was belligerent and swore at officers.

9:44 AM A female came to the Safety Building to report that items were missing from her garage on Milton Street. She told officers that a male and female subject were at her residence when she was not there and apparently backed into her garage. She told officers that she was missing an orange extension cord and a bag of cans. Officers talked with the female suspect, who denied taking anything from the garage. The reporting female told officers that she would have her landlord put locks on the garage doors.

7:34 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a male subject lying on the side of the road in the grass by the ball field on Virginia Street. He appeared to be passed out and his pants were down. Officers gave the very intoxicated male subject a ride to his mother’s house on Lincoln Street.

Sunday, May 14^th

1:19 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Forrest Avenue and Dorr Street. The driver was issued citations for speed and no insurance.

1:44 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 9^th Avenue and Weed Street. The driver was cited for operating after suspension. The passenger was arrested for bail jumping.

1:47 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 4^th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was given a written warning for operating without headlights.

11:07 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on Arctic Street reporting that the tires on her vehicle were slashed. She had put air back in the tires, but there was a puncture to the tire so it wouldn’t hold air. Officers observed that both passenger side tires were flat. One was cut.

11:50 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on 1^st Avenue reporting that one of the tires on her vehicle had been slashed. It was the driver’s side front tire. There were no suspects. A neighbor checked his surveillance video. It showed two subjects walking southbound at approximately 1:24 AM. One of the subjects was near the tire of the caller’s vehicle.

10:08 PM Officers referred a female subject for retail theft at an area business on Hwy. 64. On 5/11/17 the female subject pushed a cart full of items out of the store without paying for them.

10:44 PM Officers responded to an anonymous report of a dark blue van traveling 50-60 MPH on Superior Street and turning east on 5^th Avenue, then cutting through a gas station parking lot and heading back northbound on Superior Street at a high rate of speed. Officers received a second call about the vehicle weaving in and out of traffic and traveling at erratic speeds. The caller stated that the vehicle did a few loops by an area business on Neva Road and ended up at the Northside apartments. The caller gave officers the license plate number of the vehicle. Officers spoke with the female driver. She was not intoxicated and denied driving recklessly.

LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS

Wednesday, May 10^th

2:15 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he witnessed a van go off of the road and up an embankment and take out a sign at Hwy. 45 and Now Road. The vehicle was described as a black Chevy Astro. There was damage to the van. Officers located the vehicle. The female driver from Sheboygan told officers that one of her two golden retrievers jumped into her lap causing her to lose control. The officer advised her to buy a kennel or a screen to keep the dogs out of the driver’s area

Thursday, May 11^th

7:40 AM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that she was just in an accident at Cty. Rd. V and Cty. Rd. I. One vehicle was on its side and they couldn’t get the people out. Officers broke the rear window. The female driver of one vehicle was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way.

10:19 AM Officers responded to a report of a vehicle that swerved to miss some deer that was now in the ditch on Cty. Rd. B, north of Cty. Rd. C. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed.

Friday, May 12^th

1:59 PM Officers responded to a call from a female requesting an ambulance at a residence on Hwy. 64 for her husband who couldn’t get out of the car. He had been in an accident. Officers spoke with the male driver. He said that the accident occurred near Bass Lake in Menominee County. He didn’t remember anything about the accident. The vehicle had severe damage from striking a tree. The front air bag had deployed. The male subject was not wearing a seat belt. Officers traveled Hagman Road to the Menominee County line without locating any signs of an accident. The male subject’s wife stated that he had spent the night at a friend’s house in Neopit. She had talked to him around 9:00 AM and he stated that it would be a little while before he returned home. Several hours later, he returned with injuries and a damaged vehicle. Officers believed that the male subject may have gotten into the accident due to a medical issue.

Saturday, May 13^th

7:14 AM Officers came upon a vehicle that just lost its wheel at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. N. The driver had already contacted a towing company.  The lug nuts had come loose and the tire fell off. One stud was broken.

5:02 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that two ATVs just flipped on the road in front of her house on Enterprise Lake Road. One hit a tree. Officers cited the male subject for operating while intoxicated, 1^st offense. Officers cited the female subject for operating while intoxicated and a prohibited alcohol content. An ATV crash report was completed. The ATVs were towed.

9:39 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that someone broke into his deceased uncle’s house on Mayking Road. The lights were found on and the door was kicked in. A small green and white fishing tackle box was missing along with some random lures from another tackle box. They had been located on a shelf in the garage. Nothing appeared to be missing from the house. There were no suspects.

10:26 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on N. Langlade Road reporting that a small red car had pulled into her driveway with no headlights on and then backed out and went into the ditch across from her house. One subject was still in the vehicle and another male subject was out of the vehicle and hiding behind a tree. Officers also spoke with another female that had been following the vehicle. She told officers that the red car had almost hit them head on, so they started following it. The male driver of the vehicle was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 2^nd offense.

Sunday, May 14^th

1:11 AM Officers responded to a report of a baby bear hit at Cty. Rd. A and Claire Road. The caller was unsure if the bear was dead. Officers found the bear, which was dead.

Monday, May 15^th

4:28 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 in Elcho reporting a gas drive off about five minutes earlier for $19.42. The vehicle was described as a silver four door Chevy with no license plates. It left going eastbound on Cty. Rd. K. The driver was an African-American male wearing a red hat and dark clothing. The caller told officers that he appeared to be hiding his face from the camera. Officers were going to check the video from the business.

8:11 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a silver car was in the ditch against a tree on the south side of the intersection of Cty. Rd. S and Hwy. 64. A female subject was out of the vehicle walking around. She stated that she was not injured. Officers then received a second call reporting that the female subject was complaining of chest pain and was calling for someone to give her a ride. The female subject was then picked up by a Chevy Malibu and headed eastbound on Hwy. 64. Officers located the female driver at a residence on Price Polar Road. The vehicle was towed to the residence. Officers spoke with the female about why it’s important to stay at the scene. She told officers that she had severe anxiety due to the rain. She said that her tires got sucked into the mud on the shoulder and then she passed out and woke up in the ditch. She then got a ride home from a friend. She told officers that she hadn’t known what to do in the event of a crash. The vehicle was approximately 50 yards east of the roadway and traveled approximately 150 yards through the ditch before coming to a stop against the tree. The vehicle had minor damage.

Wednesday, May 17^th

9:19 AM Officers responded to a one vehicle accident at Hwy. 55 and Cty. Rd. K. The female driver from Crandon had a lump on her head. She was 26 weeks pregnant. She was cited for no insurance.
