Hodag Water Shows Thru August 20th (Sun. & Wed.) 7pm Hodag Park, Boom Lake, 1103 Thayer St., Rhinelander. HWS performs a show that features acts such as ballet, jump, swivel skiing, trick skiing, barefooting, doubles, trios, wakeboarding, and pyramid. Members range in age from 6 to almost 50 and some of the members have been with the team for more than 30 years. Leopolis Booster Club Triathlon July 4th Registration 9-10:30am, race start time 11am; parade at 1:30pm. Leopolis. The triathlon is sponsored by the Leopolis Booster Club and consists of three different races — the jock class (50-yard swim, 12-mile bike and 5-mile run), the beer belly (50-yard swim, 5-mile bike, 2-mile run) and the 16 & under (50-yard swim, 5-mile bike and 2-mile run). UFO’s and Crop Circles of Wisconsin – Chad Lewis July 6th 6:30-8pm T.B. Scott Library Community Room, 106 1st St., Merrill. Wisconsin has a rich history of UFO and alien encounters, and of crop circles appearing in our fields. Chad Lewis will look at UFO’s buzzing fields, cattle mutations, and face to face encounters with people not of this earth. Elk’s Club Soccer Shoot-Out July 11th 5:30-8pm Saratoga Soccer Field, 1235 Nantasket St., Antigo. Elk’s Club Soccer Shoot-out is a fun FREE event courtesy of the local Elk’s Club. You do not need to be registered for the Co-ed Youth Soccer Program to participate. All children within the specified age groups are welcome to participate. Trophies are awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each age division. Children compete in four age brackets. They will have a chance to test their soccer skills by shooting at goals at different distances & skill levels. There is one contest for ages 7 and under, 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13, boys & girls.
