Comes Alive this Weekend for the Big House Brawl

TORC: The Off-Road Championship presented by AMSOIL heads to the legendary Crandon International Raceway this weekend for the Big House Brawl, Rounds 5 and 6 of the 2017 national championship. This is the first of two visits to the storied off-road racing facility in the Wisconsin Northwoods. The purpose built track is often considered the birthplace of short-course off-road racing and is renowned for its incredible speed and land-rush start.

The doubleheader weekend features five pro racing classes highlighted by the 900-horsepower, four-wheel drive PRO 4 trucks; the fiercely competitive and expanded rear-wheel drive PRO 2 division; the young guns of PRO Light; and the PRO Mod UTV and PRO Stock UTV classes featuring more than 50 racers. The TORC Series races are part of the 24th annual Forest County Potawatomi Community Brush Run event, which also features Crandon Sportsman Off-Road Series running 8 classes featuring trucks, buggies, karts, and more.

With two full days of racing on tap, the intense action of the 24th annual event will culminate lateSunday afternoon, June 25, with the Forest County Potawatomi Community Cup Challenge. The race features the PRO 2 and PRO 4 truck classes in a head-to-head, winner take all showdown.

With two stops in the books for the TORC Series, the championship chase remains up for grabs, but the early leaders will look to gain ground at Crandon. In the premiere PRO 4 class, it’s the father son duo of Johnny Greaves and CJ Greaves from Abrams, WI sharing the points lead. Brad Lovell of Colorado Springs, CO is leading the PRO 2 ranks; Kyle Kleiman from Wilson, MI is sitting atop PRO Light; Kyle Chaney of Pataskala, OH is leading the PRO Mod UTV class; and Wisconsin’s own CJ Greaves is atop PRO Stock UTV thanks to his streak of three wins in a row.

Of course, Crandon is so much more than incredible racing action. For the thousands of fans who will visit, it’s also their home away from home. With more than 2,500 groomed grass campsites, a host of amenities, and a Saturday evening concert featuring The Presidents, it’s a weekend most passionate off-road fans simply can’t miss.

Crandon International Raceway will open its gates to the public all three days beginning at 8:00 am. Race fans can enjoy watching practice on Friday, June 23rd for free. Weekend admission is $45 for adults, with children 12 and under and seniors 75 and older getting in free.
