ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS

Monday, September 25^th

3:27 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Fred Street reporting that a male relative, that was living with him for the past couple of weeks, had now moved and had stolen several items from him. The list of items that the male subject stole included a Fuji camera ($350), a $400 check, a brand new camera bag ($59), $75-100 worth of change, Canon printer ($50), Samsung laptop ($400), Apple iPod Nano ($100), miscellaneous cameras/electronics and bags ($500), Apple Macbook ($500) and a jar of pennies ($20). Officers attempted to contact the male subject by cell phone but it went right to voicemail. Officers were investigating.

4:32 PM Officers received a call from the employee of an area business on 3^rd Avenue reporting that a patient stole a pair of eyeglass frames. The caller gave officer the name of a possible male suspect.

4:37 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he was just involved in an accident at Superior Street and 10^th Avenue. His vehicle was rear-ended.

10:19 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Neva Road reporting that a Chevy S-10 just struck a tree in front of her house. The truck then took off southbound on Neva Road. The caller told officers that the truck had a flat, rear, driver’s side tire. Officers cited the male driver for no insurance. There was no damage to the truck, other than the flat tire. Officers were going to follow up with the home owner.

Tuesday, September 26^th

2:02 PM Officers cited a male student at Antigo High School for missing all or part of 15 days, since the beginning of the year.

2:02 PM Officers cited a female student at Antigo High School for missing all or part of 16 days, since the beginning of the year.

2:02 PM Officers cited a female student at Antigo Middle School with theft for stealing the phone of another female student. The phone was recovered except for the SIM card which was lost.

3:43 PM Officers arrested a male subject at a residence on 2^nd Avenue on to Langlade County Warrants. He was transported to Corrections.

Wednesday, September 27^th

9:42 AM Officers received a call from Langlade Hospital letting them know about a problem that they were having with a patient’s visitor. They had found elevated levels in a male patient and he admitted to them that someone had been bringing him meth. They told officers that they would notify them when the visitor came again.

10:27 AM Two male subjects came to the Safety Building to request officers help in keeping a male subject away from a male relative that was very sick and in the hospital. The male subject was in the patient’s room when officers arrived. The subject consented to a search by officers. Small amounts of an unknown substance were found. The items were tested and the male subject was charged with possession of meth and felony bail jumping.

6:52 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident at 4^th Avenue and Superior Street. There were no injuries. The female driver of one of the vehicles was cited for failure to yield the right of way and operating without a license. An accident report was completed.

9:21 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hudson Street and 9^th Avenue. A male subject was arrested on a Shawano County Sheriff’s Office warrant.

Thursday, September 28^th

2:07 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hudson Street and 8^th Avenue. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 2^nd offense.

5:08 AM Officers responded to a call from a female at an area business on Superior Street reporting a person lying down in the southwest corner of their parking lot. EMS was paged. The male subject did not appear to have any injuries. He was highly intoxicated and unresponsive. When EMTs attempted to place him on the long board, he became combative and was going to throw punches. Officers handcuffed the male subject. The subject was slipping in and out of consciousness. He couldn’t answer any questions and he didn’t know where he was. He was transported by ambulance.

10:58 AM Officers responded to several reports of an accident in the 1000 block of 1^st Avenue. When officers arrived the female driver was “worked up” as she thought someone had run a stop sign at 1^st Avenue and Lincoln Street. She then swerved to the right and ran directly into the rear of a truck that was legally parked on the street. She then continued for another 45 yards before coming to a stop. The truck was hit hard enough that the owner’s tools were thrown from the truck and the truck was pushed ahead 30 yards. A third vehicle, a truck, was struck by some of the flying tools and slightly by the female driver. A state report was completed.

1:16 PM Officers responded to several calls of an accident at 6^th Avenue and Superior Street. All of the occupants were out of the vehicles. Vehicle 1 was traveling east on 6^th Avenue and turned out in front of and into Vehicle 2. Vehicle 2 could not stop. The driver of Vehicle 1 admitted fault. The driver of one of the vehicles requested an ambulance for leg pain. An accident report was completed.

6:33 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that someone had been shot in the neck by a pellet gun at the skate park on 2^nd Avenue. She told officers that the male subject didn’t need an ambulance, but he had a red neck. The caller also told officers that she saw the two male suspects run off to a nearby house. Officers located the two male suspects and confiscated an airsoft pistol. The parents of the boy that was struck were notified. The parents of one of the male subjects were also notified. Officers were unable to locate the parents of the other male subject.

8:31 PM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting a possible burglary at a residence on Maple Street. The house had been in foreclosure and was locked up by the bank. There was now a little red car parked at the residence and the caller told officers that the subject may have broken in. Officers found a male subject in the garage who was removing items. He was a former resident of the property. The male suspect’s vehicle was searched and a small jewel baggie containing meth residue was found. The house and garage were secured and the male subject was released due to too many uncertainties. He was referred for burglary and meth paraphernalia.

11:50 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Edison Street and 6^th Avenue. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 2^nd offense and possession of marijuana.

Friday, September 29^th

3:04 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road requesting assistance with a female subject that they were watching put store items in her purse. Officers cited a male subject and the female subject for retail theft.

Saturday, September 30th

4:31 PM A male came to the Safety Building to drop off a needle that he found at 5^th Avenue and Hudson Street. The needle was placed in a Sharps container.

10:58 PM Officers responded to a report of a structure fire at a residence on 4^th Avenue. It appeared that the fire started in some sort of cage or pen on the north side of the detached garage. The back of the garage was fully engulfed. Officers got everyone out of the home. Officers talked with the male homeowner who said that they had chickens in the pen, but there were no lights in the cage. Officers blocked traffic for the Antigo Fire Department and photos were taken.

Sunday, October 1^st

12:32 AM Officers responded to a call from a female employee of an area business on 5^th Avenue reporting that someone told her that a male subject had left the business and said that he was going to come back with a gun. The caller did not know the name of the male subject but said that he was wearing a black or gray sweatshirt and jeans and he had a beard. Officers told the caller to lock the doors. Officers checked two other area businesses for a subject matching that description. When officers returned to the business, other officers were talking with a male subject. Witnesses confirmed that this was the male subject who had made the comment. He was arrested for disorderly conduct.

2:39 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at E. 5^th Avenue and Division Street. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1^st offense. A male passenger was cited for open intoxicants.

10:26 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on Deleglise Street reporting that a male neighbor was trying to get into her house and he was naked. The male subject was sweaty and couldn’t say his first name, only his last name. The Antigo Fire Department transported the male subject to Langlade Hospital. Officers later checked on the male subject at the hospital. It appeared to have been a medical issue. Officers talked with the male subject who told them that he didn’t remember what had happened.

4:50 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that a female subject pulled into the parking lot in a white SUV, almost struck a pedestrian and appeared to be “on something.” The caller told officers that her vehicle would not start, so she was still there.  Officers arrested the female subject for operating while intoxicated, 2^nd offense and operating after revocation, operating while intoxicated related. She was transported to Corrections.

LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS

Thursday, September 28^th

7:30 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject on Tall Pine Lane reporting that they had come up to their cottage that evening and there were lights on, a television on, etc. It seemed strange, but the caller told officers that no doors or windows were broken. Officers cleared the residence. There was no apparent damage and nothing was missing. The female owner told officers that the house had recently been shown by realtors. Officers advised them to consider finding a new spot for the key.

Saturday, September 30^th

11:21 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a vehicle in the river by Cty. Rd. I and Rosedale Road. The caller told officers that a young male subject was on the road and he was mad that officers were called. The male subject had been driving too fast and was spinning the tires in the gravel lot at the East Branch Eau Claire River fishing area. Officers noticed fresh tire marks in the lot. The male subject claimed that his brakes quit working and the car got stuck on the bank of the river. He then decided to drive forward into the river and attempted to go down stream. He thought that he would be able to drive the car out on the other side, but was unsuccessful. He also told officers that he had grabbed a rock and threw it at the back window of the car, shattering it. He claimed that he was not fishing, (he did not have a license) but he had fishing gear with him. He was cited for having no insurance. The DNR would also be issuing citations.

2:10 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a white van that was eastbound on Hwy. 64. The caller told officers that it was all over the road, into the ditch and crossing the centerline at 10 MPH. Officers located the vehicle which continued eastbound without stopping and went into the ditch on Hwy. 64 at Schroeder Road. An ambulance was dispatched. The male driver was transported to Langlade Hospital. The male subject was diabetic and had very low blood sugar. He was written for re-exam.

9:38 PM Officers responded to a 911 call from a male on E. North Avenue reporting that his 2003 Ford F-150, 4 door off-road edition truck was just stolen from the driveway of his residence. He told officers that the vehicle was all black with aluminum rims and a red pin stripe. The caller told officers that he chased the truck to Neva Corners. The truck was last seen westbound on Cty. Rd. A. The male told officers that the keys had been in the truck and there was less than a quarter of a tank of gas in it. He also told officers that he had no idea who took the truck. The truck was later recovered at an area business on Hwy. J in Deerbrook.

9:55 PM Officers responded to a 911 call from a male at an area business on Hwy. J in Deerbrook reporting that his blue Chevy Silverado extended cab was just stolen. The suspect left westbound on Cty. Rd. J at a high rate of speed. He told officers that his truck was dark blue and had rigging gear in the back. The keys had been in it and there was a half a tank of gas in it. The suspect had ditched the black Ford F-150 from the previous call and taken this one.

10:12 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 17 reporting a vehicle theft from their business. They told officers that a person just stole a tan 2004 Chevy Duramax diesel truck. The truck was lifted and said “Move” on the bumper. The suspect had ditched the blue Chevy Silverado from the previous call and taken this one. The driver of all three stolen vehicles eventually crashed in Oneida County at Cty. Rd. Q and Dump Road. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Department requested assistance. The male subject was taken into custody on multiple charges.

Sunday, October 1^st

12:08 PM Officers responded to an anonymous caller reporting that he was out hunting and noticed the door of a residence on Markton Drive wide open and broken.  Officers discovered that the south entrance door was kicked in. A camera on the property showed two male subjects on photos taken on 9/30/17. Items taken included a compound bow ($525), a Craftsman tool kit including a sawsall, circular saw, impact drill & power drill ($200-400), 3 fishing poles & reels ($300), a gun cleaning kit ($60), a tackle box filled with lures ($200-$300), various types of ammunition, a humidor container with cigars and some tobacco pipes. Officers were investigating.

9:20 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Cherry Road reporting that he heard tires squealing, he then drove down the road a quarter of a mile east of his residence and found a car in the ditch. The caller told officers that there were beer cans all over and no one was around. The vehicle was described as a green Pontiac Grand Am. The Town of Antigo Fire & Rescue was called to check the fields for anyone involved in the accident. Officers also checked an area farm. No one was located. The Rescue Department gave officers a phone that they found on the road. Officers found out that the male owner of the vehicle was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the accident. He was cited for inattentive driving and failure to report an accident.
