Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff’s Reports for 1/22/18
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, January 8th
2:16 PM Officers were at a residence on 1st Avenue. A male subject was arrested on 3 Langlade County Sheriff’s Office failure to pay warrants. He was transported to Corrections.
Tuesday, January 9th
6:02 AM Officers responded to an anonymous report that people were smoking pot out on the front porch at an apartment complex on Charlotte Court. When officers arrived one male subject had already taken off. Another male subject was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
8:22 AM Officers cited a male student for disorderly conduct for an incident that occurred at Antigo High School on 1/4/18.
3:18 PM Officers responded to a minor accident at Antigo High School. Vehicle 1 had rear-ended Vehicle 2 in the high school parking lot. The driver of Vehicle 1 told officers that her foot slipped causing the car to move and hit Vehicle 2. The driver of Vehicle 2 had a headache but refused medical treatment.
3:37 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Milton Street reporting that the two back tires were missing from a vehicle that was parked in his back yard. Tracks were found around the vehicle. The caller gave officers the name of a possible male suspect. Officers were investigating.
Wednesday, January 10th
2:54 PM Officers received a call from a female reporting that she was following a vehicle that was weaving the entire way from 5th Avenue and Edison Street to the Antigo High School. The vehicle was last seen in the high school parking lot. Officers were advised.
Thursday, January 11th
9:08 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on 5th Avenue reporting that they were burglarized. The subject or subjects smashed a front window to gain entry. Once inside, they grabbed several guitars and cases. Also missing were some amps, a violin and case and two drum microphone sets. The items were taken out the back door, which was left open. Officers were investigating.
3:21 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that someone threw a small landscaping brick through a window of the building next door to them. No entry was gained. The caller told officers that it had occurred within the last 30 minutes prior to their call. Nothing of great value was in the building. The window was boarded up.
Friday, January 12th
12:35 PM A male and a female subject came to the Safety Building to report that they were involved in a minor accident at Forrest Avenue and S. Superior Street. Vehicle 1 and Vehicle 2 were stopped at a stop sign on Forrest Avenue. A semi-truck was turning west onto Forrest Avenue from Hwy. 45. The driver of Vehicle 1 backed up for the semi which cut the corner too close, and hit Vehicle 2.
1:53 PM Officers responded to a call from the employee of an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that he was following a male subject in the parking lot that was refusing to stop. The caller believed that the male subject had stolen some food and video games in a black diaper bag that he was carrying. The subject put the bag in the trunk of the vehicle and got into the passenger seat. The male subject was described as being in his mid-30s with brown hair, wearing blue jeans, a black sweatshirt and wearing a camo baseball cap. The vehicle was described as a black Chrysler that left westbound on Hwy. 64. Officers stopped the vehicle at Clermont Street and Century Avenue. The male subject was cited for retail theft. A female subject was referred for being party to the crime of retail theft.
2:06 PM Officers responded to a call from the Street Department reporting that they witnessed a white Ford pickup just take out the traffic light on the south side of 5th Avenue and Superior Street. Vehicle 1 was turning southbound on 5th Avenue. The male driver told officers that another vehicle was eastbound on 5th Avenue and he got nervous that the vehicle was coming too fast, so he cut the corner a little too sharp and then with the glare of the sun, he hit the traffic light, knocking it over.
2:06 PM Officers were involved in a minor accident at Amron Avenue and Neva Road. The officer was making a right turn from Amron Avenue onto Neva Road and moved forward to see around a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle behind the squad didn’t realize that the officer was going to stop again and rear-ended him. There was minor damage to both vehicles.
2:42 PM Officers referred a female student at the Antigo Middle School for disorderly conduct.
4:38 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on 6th Avenue reporting that they had a fraudulent $20 bill. Officers placed the bill into evidence.
9:47 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Birch Circle reporting that a neighbor had been shooting a laser at him when he was driving into his driveway. Officers talked with the male neighbor who denied having a laser pointer. Officers advised the male subject not to let it happen if he did have one, or he could be cited or arrested.
Sunday, January 14th
10:27 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on Wausau Road reporting that she hit a vehicle when she backed out of her driveway.
7:59 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Superior Street. The male driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance felony, possession of a controlled substance misdemeanor, felony bail jumping and domestic charges from the day before.
8:36 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that his 2017 Dodge Ram had been keyed down the driver’s side while it was parked at an area business on Edison Street. Officers took photos of the damage. The male later called officers back saying that he knew the two male subjects that did the damage to his truck. He told officers that they had been arguing earlier that day. Officers talked with both male subjects who denied any wrong doing. They told officers that they had no hard feeling toward the caller and did not know what vehicle he drove.
Monday, January 15th
3:02 AM Officers responded to an anonymous report of a cougar at Charlotte Court and Hwy. 64. The caller told officers that it was in the bushes the last time they saw it. Officers located some tracks that appeared to them to be from a domestic cat. Officers responded to a second call at 4:00 AM when the caller reported seeing movement. Officers found more tracks that appeared to be from a deer.
9:24 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he was just rear-ended in front of an area business on Hwy. 64.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, January 10th
1:10 PM Officers responded to a call form a motorist reporting that there was a semi-truck in the ditch on Cty. HH. Officers found out that while maneuvering a driveway, the semi-truck became stuck in the ditch, blocking traffic. The semi was removed by a wrecker. There was no damage.
Thursday, January 11th
12:11 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that her vehicle slid in the ditch on Hwy. 55, near Cty. Rd. M. The vehicle was pulled out by a wrecker. There was no damage.
3:37 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he went into the ditch on Hwy. 55, south of Hwy. 52 on the west side of the road. The vehicle was pulled out by a wrecker. There was no damage.
4:22 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he ran into the ditch, right by another accident, on Hwy. 55 by Hwy. 52. He then told dispatch that he wasn’t in the ditch anymore and did not need assistance. Upon officers arrival though, the subject was still in the ditch. The vehicle was towed. The male driver was cited for operating while suspended.
5:12 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that his son was driving a semi-trailer and it jack-knifed on Now Road, near Sugarbush Road. It was now blocking the entire road, on the top of a hill. The semi was described as a single axle trailer with three cars on it. The semi was removed from the ditch by a tow truck shortly after 7:00 AM.
6:17 AM Officers responded to a call from a Menominee Transit bus driver reporting that a truck went off the road on Hwy. 47, just into Langlade County, east of Phlox. The driver of the vehicle was on the scene and wasn’t hurt. The vehicle was towed out. It had no damage.
7:46 AM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident on Hwy. 64. A vehicle rear-ended a dump truck. There were no injuries.
11:46 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business reporting that one of their customers struck another vehicle on Hwy. 47 and a Sheriff’s report was needed.
8:31 PM Officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch at Hwy. 45 and Old 26 Road. The driver had already called for a tow truck. A state report was completed.
Saturday, January 13th
1:54 AM Officers came upon a vehicle in the ditch near an area business on Cty. Rd. M, with no one around it. The vehicle appeared to have slid in. Officers spoke with some patrons and an employee of the nearby business. They reported that a male subject had come into the business about 30 minutes prior, asking for vehicle assistance, but did not get any. The male did not appear injured. The patrons told officers that the male subject lived about a mile away in White Lake and left on foot. Officers were unable to make contact with the male subject. The vehicle was towed. At 9:40 AM, the male subject called to request release of his vehicle. He admitted to being the driver of the vehicle at the time of the accident.
1:15 PM Officers responded to a report of two vehicles that just slid in the ditch on Hwy. 55. The highway was covered with ice. The Highway Department was notified. One vehicle was towed. A state report was completed.
2:09 PM Officers were at an accident at Hwy. 55 and Cty. Rd. K. The vehicle was towed. There was only minor damage.
2:35 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that her son went into the ditch on Hwy. 55 and hit a tree, by Langlade. She told officers that he drove the truck out of the ditch and it was now parked on Markton Drive because it was no longer drivable. The vehicle was towed. A state report was completed.
5:03 PM Officers responded to a call from a passerby reporting that a vehicle spun out on Enterprise Lake Road and hit a pole. Wires were down and hanging low on the road.
Sunday, January 14th
3:02 AM Officers responded to a call from an employee of an area business on Hwy. 45 requesting an officer for a female patron that would not leave. The caller told officers that the female was intoxicated and could not drive. Upon arrival, the officers were not able to awaken the female for some time, so the Antigo Fire Department was paged. Once the Antigo Fire Department arrived, the female subject began to come around. The Antigo Fire Department transported the female. No charges were filed.
2:35 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a van had rolled at Hwy. 55 and Cty. Rd. K. The vehicle was partially on the blacktop. There were no injuries and a child that had been in the van was now in the caller’s vehicle. The caller also reported that the male driver seemed nervous. The male subject was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 3rd offense. The vehicle was towed.
5:41 PM Officers responded to a call from an area towing company reporting that they were called for a snowmobile trailer that was flipped over on Hwy. 55, right between the curves. A state report was completed.
6:27 PM Officers received a call from a male reporting a car in the ditch on Hwy. 55, just south of Cty. Rd. K. The female driver of the vehicle called officers back saying that she was out of the ditch and did not need any help. The vehicle was parked at Hwy. 55 and Cty. Rd. K for the night because of a flat tire.
Monday, January 15th
5:37 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a vehicle in the ditch on Hwy.55. The caller stated that the male driver of the vehicle told him that he had been in the ditch for about 8 hours. The male driver from Clintonville reported that he had been running his car on and off all night. The vehicle was towed.
9:37 AM Officers responded to a call from the Langlade County Highway Department reporting that a truck spun out on Hwy. 64, east of Cty. Rd. BB and was partially in the roadway. The left rear tire of the truck had come off, causing it to go into the ditch. They were able to get the tire back on and drive it out of the ditch.
Tuesday, January 16th
11:12 AM Officers responded to a report of a one vehicle accident at Hwy. 55 and N. Rolling Stone Lake Road. The male driver from Pearson was pinned in the vehicle.
3:23 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Cty. Rd. T and Cty. Rd. TT. The male driver from Crandon was referred for possession of marijuana.
