Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 3/26/18

ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Tuesday, March 13th
8:13 PM Officers identified a male subject from store video as a shoplifter at an area business on 2/23/18 and 3/12/18. The male subject was cited for retail theft.
Wednesday, March 14th
12:35 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Superior Street. The male driver was given a written warning for speed. Another male subject was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
8:02 AM Officers arrested a female subject at a residence on 5th Avenue on two Langlade County Sheriff’s office warrants for failure to pay a fine for trespassing and failure to pay a fine for retail theft. The female subject was transported to Corrections.
6:21 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she found some needles in her rental property on Spruce Street. Officers found some new and some used needles. The items were disposed of.
Thursday, March 15th
1:22 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Superior Street. The female driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 3rd offense and operating after revocation.
1:25 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Superior Street. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated and transported to Corrections.
8:37 AM Officers responded to a call from Antigo High School requesting that officers speak with a male student that they believed was under the influence of drugs. The male student denied smoking any marijuana, but smelled of it badly. He was informed of this and officers conducted a search of his person and his locker. Nothing was found. The male student was warned about his behavior.
10:28 AM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report that his debit card had been hacked. Two charges had been made, one to Tommy Hilfiger and one to a shoe company. Both shipments were to go to a post office box in Fort Atkinson. Both shipments had been stopped and at that point the male subject was not out any money.
10:21 PM Officers were out with a male subject at S. Superior Street and Maple Street. The male subject was arrested for possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony bail jumping and a probation hold.
Friday, March 16th
11:57 AM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident on 5th Avenue. Property damage only.
1:50 PM Officers responded to a report that a female subject was on a heroin binge at an apartment on Lincoln Street. The female subject was arrested for possession of meth, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping. A second female subject was arrested for possession of meth, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.
3:00 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on 9th Avenue reporting that a new red Dodge Durango backed into another vehicle in front of his residence approximately 10-15 minutes earlier. The caller told officers that he didn’t notice any damage, until he walked outside. The Durango had turned north on Lincoln Street.
3:14 PM Officers responded to a call from male with the Antigo Fire Department reporting a two vehicle accident on Western Avenue. When officers arrived, they realized that multiple vehicles were involved. Property damage only. One vehicle was towed. A state report was completed.
3:54 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of an area business on Superior Street. There was only minor damage.
5:52 PM Officers arrested a male subject near a residence on 8th Avenue on a Shawano County warrant.
10:21 PM An Act 79 search was conducted at a residence on 3rd Avenue. A male subject was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of prescription medication, a probation hold and bail jumping. A second male subject was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
11:37 PM Officers responded to a report that a male subject with a Department of Corrections warrant was at a residence on 1st Avenue. The male subject was arrested and transported to Corrections.
Saturday, March 17th
2:32 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Forrest Avenue and Balsam Street. The female driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
2:52 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on Superior Street reporting that her daughter was on medication and was not making any sense. Dispatch also received a call from the daughter who was extremely agitated and delusional. The female subject was arrested for possession of meth, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct, resisting, and felony bail jumping. After being medically cleared, she was transported to Corrections.
1:31 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Clermont Street reporting that someone had been in her garage again. She was now missing a full can of gas, a small cordless saw and a small, empty propane tank. It was unknown when the items were taken.
5:15 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting an accident in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64.
Sunday, March 18th
12:35 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Field Street. A female subject was arrested on a Marathon County Sheriff’s office warrant and taken to Corrections.
1:56 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Lincoln Street and 1st Avenue. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.
3:38 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that when he went to show his house on 6th Avenue to some potential buyers, he found some girls inside the house smoking pot. One female subject from Shawano was arrested for possession of meth, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
5:17 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Mendlik Avenue. The male driver from Eagle River was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Thursday, March 15th
9:41 AM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report that he lost $1,000 from a computer scam. The male used three Google play cards to try and get access returned to his computer. The cards were worth $500, $300 and $200. The male told officers that the scammers had East Indian accents. He also told officers that he later contacted Apple and they told him that they would never do that. He then contacted Google and they said that the money was already removed from the cards and there was nothing further that they could do. They recommended that the male subject contact IC3.gov (Internet Crime Complaint Center) to file a report. Officers found out that the male subject may have also been the subject of another scam a week or two prior in which he paid $150 for three years of virus protection. He paid for this with a credit card. Officers advised the male subject to dispute payment of this transaction and to take his computer to a store for service.
10:55 AM Officers responded to a call from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s office reporting that they had received a 911 call from a female that was lost on a logging trail and got her vehicle stuck. She told officers that she had been traveling on Hwy. 17 to Cty. Rd. H and then turned on a side road. Her phone was pinged and her location was placed as Nelson Fire Lane, one mile south of Five Cent Fire Lane. The Elcho Fire Department was contacted to bring a gator/ATV to assist in locating the female subject and her vehicle. The towing company had to have a skid steer delivered, in order to get back to the vehicle. A short time later, the female subject called 911 back to say that she was not going to pay the towing bill. The female subject was cited for misuse of the 911 system for that call.
Saturday, March 17th
1:30 PM Officers responded a call from a male subject on Hwy. 64 reporting that he had been scammed. He told officers that his wife had sent $35 to a subject and now they were demanding more money and making threats. Officers spoke with the subjects at their residence. They told officers that the man who was calling told them that he was in the area with multiple cars and one of them was a car that the male subject had won. The caller told the male that there were men with guns and they would not let it go, until the male subject sent them money. The reporting male subject told officers that in the past, the callers had threatened to come to his house and kill him. The female subject had sent $35 to a subject in Jamaica. Officers advised the couple to not send any more money and to quit answering phone calls from unknown people.
3:48 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that her male friend was lost. She told officers that he was in Gillett at 1:15 PM. He had called her for directions. The female told officers that the last she knew, he left his keys and then went to the wrong car, so he didn’t get started until 1:45 PM. Officers sent teletypes to surrounding areas. The vehicle was located at Hwy. 45 and Birch Road. The female caller met officers at the scene and the male subject followed the female to Polar.
Tuesday, March 20th
7:50 PM Officers received a request from the Forest County Sheriff’s Office to try and make contact with a male subject on Cty. Rd. B in Summit Lake about a vehicle registered to him that was in a ditch on Johnson Road in the Town of Nashville in Forest County that was on fire and no one was around.
10:05 PM Officers received a teletype from the Forest County Sheriff’s office stating that the male subject on Cty. Rd. B in Summit Lake whose vehicle they called about earlier was stating that his vehicle had been stolen from his residence earlier that evening, between 4:00 and 9:00 PM. Per the Forest County deputy, his vehicle was completely destroyed in the fire and the interior was “melted down to the wires” so they would be unable to get any fingerprints.
