Antigo Athletes and Club Student of the Week
For the Antigo Times
Ellie Preboski and Sam Heuss are the Antigo High School Athletes of the Week
Ellie plays on the JV softball team and her coaches are Amy Jay Weix and Diane Preboski.
Ellie is always prepared and ready for games and practices. She listens to the coaches and tries to implement the suggestions they make to improve her game. Ellie has gone above and beyond to make her team better by trying new things. She always has a positive attitude and encourages her teammates.
Sam plays on the JV baseball team and his coach is Dan Bastle.
Sam had the winning hit against Kenosha late in the game with two outs. He made two spectacular catches against Merrill late in that game too, preserving the victory. Overall, Sam is a super positive young man, a great person who takes care of business at practice/games and his studies. He doesn’t play every inning, but he never complains and is genuinely excited to be a part of the team.
Riley LeVeque is the Antigo Middle School Athlete of the Week.
Riley is on the Middle School Track Team and his coaches are Lynn Czerneski, Dave Hickman, Clarice Zimmerman, and Carla Wissbroecker.
During the Banana Relays in Mosinee, Riley had to give up something and he was awesome about it. Riley could not run a throwers relay that day and he handled it so well. Riley continues to be very kind and respectful. He continues to work hard and improve at shot and disc. He is a great teammate and very coachable.
Noah Royce is the Antigo High School Club Member for the Week.
Noah is in Forensics and his Adviser is Aimee Hein.
Noah joined Forensics his junior year and found his calling. He used his success to inspire other students to join the team. Then this year, he asked for more responsibility. Noah eased into his leadership role with ease and style. Coach Hein will miss being able to count on not only his help, but also his dynamic personality.
