Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 6/4/18
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Tuesday, May 22nd
1:00 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Hickory Street. The vehicle was searched. The male driver was arrested for possession of meth, operating while intoxicated and bail jumping. He was also cited for display of false registration and operating without a license.
Wednesday, May 23rd
11:54 AM Officers responded to a call from a male on Clermont Street reporting the theft of over $2,000 worth of equipment off of his boat, while it was parked next to the driveway of his residence. The caller told officers that the boat had been in storage all winter, from 10/7/17 to 4/28/18, at a location in Marathon County. The male had noticed that his 9.9 Mercury outboard motor was missing from the rear of the boat ($2,500). A fire extinguisher ($16) and a Hummingbird fish finder ($400) were also missing from inside the boat. The boat had been parked outside the garage, covered. Nothing was missing from the neighbors’ boats. A copy of the report was also faxed to the Marathon County Sheriff’s office.
10:38 PM Officers responded to call from a female at an area business on 5th Avenue requesting an officer, as she had been told that someone was “messing with” her vehicle. She gave officers the name of a possible female suspect. Officers received another call from another female with information on the female subject’s vehicle, telling officers that someone slashed her tires. Officers observed that the female’s driver’s side front tire was slashed. Officers spoke with the female suspect at great length. She denied have any knowledge of the incident. Officers determined that there was not enough evidence to charge anyone at that time.
Thursday, May 24th
2:09 PM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. Property damage only. A report was completed.
3:32 PM Officers responded to a report of an accident at Neva Road and Center Street. Property damage only. A state report was completed.
11:17 PM Officers were out with a male subject in the 600 block of 2nd Avenue. He was arrested on a Langlade County Sheriff’s office warrant for failure to appear.
11:37 PM Officers responded to an anonymous report of a male subject walking around by a residence on 6th Avenue who appeared to be intoxicated or on something. He was swearing and mumbling to himself. The subject was described as wearing shorts and a black tank top. When officers arrived, they found a male subject in the front yard with a female subject. He was upset about people possibly taking his money. His greeting to officers was “Give me a ticket, I’m drunk and I’m underage.” The male subject was told by officers that he should go inside and if they had to come back, he would be cited for disorderly conduct. He was cited for underage alcohol.
Friday, May 25th
9:05 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Lincoln Street reporting that his house had been broken into that day. The caller told officers that his PlayStation 4, some games and a television were missing. His computer was also smashed. Officers located drug paraphernalia in the room. A statement was taken.
Saturday, May 26th
7:26 AM Officers responded to call from an area business on S. Superior Street reporting that someone had broken into their fenced area the night before and there was now an ATV outside the fenced area. An unknown truck loaded an ATV from the fenced area on the south end of the building. The suspects had used old metal ATV pallets to load the ATV. The gates had been locked at 8:00 PM the night before. The east double gate and a smaller single gate had been pushed open, causing damage to the locking piece. Photos and DNA samples were taken and placed into evidence.
6:05 PM Officers responded to a call reporting a vehicle on fire at a residence on 6th Avenue. The reporting person told officers that they could see flames.
Sunday, May 27th
2:12 AM Officers were out at the park on Field Street with two male subjects and one female subject. The female subject was cited for possession of marijuana.
Monday, May 28th
12:14 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting a retail theft. The male suspect left in a maroon Dodge Dakota, heading west on Hwy. 64. The caller gave officers the license plate number. Officers checked the male subject’s residence, but no one was home. Officers would be following up later.
12:28 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she struck a cart rack in the parking lot of an area business on Neva Road and she was hung up on it. She informed officers that she had contacted a towing company to assist her.
3:43 PM Officers responded to a call reporting the smell of marijuana in the hallway of an apartment building on 5th Avenue. Officers located marijuana, a marijuana pipe and a meth pipe. A male subject was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping. A female subject cited for possession of marijuana.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, May 23rd
1:42 PM Officers responded to a call from a female from Irma reporting that she was just involved in an accident with a tractor in front of a residence on Cty. Rd. C. A state report was filed.
7:33 PM Officers took a male subject into custody from the courthouse after he was found guilty of operating while intoxicated, 8th offense.
Thursday, May 24th
11:24 AM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting that a female subject had rolled her car in a field on Cty. Rd. N, of one mile west of Hwy. 45. The caller told officers that the female seemed ok, but she would not speak with the caller and left westbound on Cty. Rd. N. The subject was wearing jeans and a black tank top and had blond hair. Two residences had damage to their mailboxes. The vehicle was towed. The female driver was identified. She was cited for operating without a license, having no insurance and possession of marijuana.
Friday, May 25th
10:34 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 reporting a gas drive-off. They did not pay for $23.01 worth of gas. The vehicle was a gray Kia Sorrento that left southbound on Hwy. 45. The caller gave officers the license plate number. Officers sent a teletype to the Outagamie County Sheriff’s office to get the phone number of the registered owner.
6:52 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she and another female subject had gotten separated from their kayak group and were lost near Hwy. 55 and Taylor Road. She requested officers to come and help them get out of the woods. No one was hurt and the other kayakers were presumed fine, as they had more experience. The two female subjects were located on Hwy. 55 and transported to their vehicle on Hollister Road.
Saturday, May 26th
2:26 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a vehicle in the ditch at Cty. Rd. K and Hwy. 55. The vehicle was a black Range Rover. There was no one around the vehicle. Officers determined that the vehicle had been eastbound on Cty. Rd. K, went through a stop sign and into the ditch. It also appeared that someone had tried to remove the vehicle from the ditch, but were unsuccessful. There were no obvious signs of injury. The male driver from Hortonville later called officers. He stated that he was unfamiliar with the roads, had looked down briefly and didn’t see the stop sign. He had then called friends to pick him up. He was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to maintain control and failure to notify law enforcement about an accident.
4:27 AM Officers responded a call from the Oconto County Sheriff’s office reporting a one vehicle crash, located one mile east of Sauls Spring Road and Hwy. 64. One male subject was in the vehicle and was refusing an ambulance. He had told officers that he only had minor cuts and bruises. The male driver told officers that he had been driving from Rhinelander to Neenah. He stated that he had swerved to miss something in the road and went into the south ditch. The male driver was transported to the hospital. He was cited for operating while intoxicated, 3rd offense and failure to maintain control. The vehicle was towed. A state crash report was completed.
11:06 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a two vehicle accident at Hwy. 64 and Hwy. 52, near the airport. There was road blockage. The caller told officers that there were no injuries, but one of the drivers seemed a bit confused. One vehicle was towed. A state report was completed.
4:28 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a male subject had crashed his pickup on Lost Lake Road, approximately 3.6 miles south of Cty. Rd. K. The vehicle was described as an older royal blue Jeep pickup. The caller told officers that they thought that the male driver may have been drinking. The male was described as in his mid-20’s, with dark hair and a lean build. He was wearing jeans and black t-shirt. The caller also stated that it looked like he may have hit some ruts in the road and went into the ditch and then hit a tree. There was not a lot of damage to the vehicle. A state report was completed.
Monday, May 28th
6:57 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Sunnyside Road reporting that a vehicle struck her mailbox. The vehicle was still at the scene. There were no injuries and the vehicle was drivable. The male driver of the vehicle told officers that he was driving westbound on Sunnyside Road and was distracted by the sun and he dropped his sunglasses. He then struck the mailbox. A state report was completed.
Tuesday, May 29th
6:18 PM Officers attempted to stop a Grand Prix vehicle at 2nd Avenue and Arctic Street. The vehicle did not pull over. The vehicle was going at speeds between 27 and 30 MPH. The vehicle pulled over at the Langlade Hospital emergency room entrance. The male driver told officers that he had cut his hand. The male subject was referred to the District Attorney for fleeing an officer.
