The Langlade County 4-H Horse & Pony Project is hosting an open Gymkhana Speed Show on Saturday, June 16 at the Langlade County Fairgrounds. Exhibition runs start at 8:00 a.m., with the show starting at 9:00 a.m.

This show is open to all riders of all ages. You don’t have to be a 4-H member to participate. There are classes for tiny tot – ages 10 and under, children – ages 11-14, intermediate – ages 15-18, and senior riders ages 19 and up. Top speed racers will be awarded gift prizes from first through sixth place. High point will be awarded in each age bracket thanks to the Lenzner/Lese families. There is a $2.00 entry fee per class. A negative Coggins test is required. All riders must wear helmets and boots.

New this year are jackpot races, with an 80% payout to the top 6 racers. These are open classes in barrels, flag, plug and poles. Come and test your riding skills against some of the fastest local riders. There is a $10.00 entry fee per class.

Don’t ride? Come and watch! Entry into the fairgrounds for this event is free and there will be a food stand on the grounds.
