One-Dimensional Living

Dear Reader,
Sometimes I think I am living this world in only one dimension. I plow through a day addressing patterns, people and routines I’ve established over time. It is rare that I attempt to pierce the veil of bigger thinking and philosophies regarding the roles we play, and the whys, and the end-game antics to a greater universe of the soul.

Is this world a sanctuary or a prison? It seems to depend on the day. Is there meaning in each moment, or does that appear at certain engagements with certain people in our orbits? It’s hard to find a consistent pattern. Is there another dimension of thought we barely scratch that might be reachable to those who seek? That is the quest.

There are many living situations whence we trek this road. Whether single, married, or in some other unique situation, we experience special challenges and charms. In all cases, it seems we are meant to make ourselves whole through interactions with others who are sprinkled in and out of our day-to-day life.

When we transcend to the other side, our souls, once fueled by our bodies, power on to their eternal destiny of being. The one dimension of the curiosities and delights of physical living has been shed, transcended to the ultimate destiny of God. So we hope, so we hope….
