ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, August 1st
4:23 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that another vehicle just struck her vehicle while she was in an area business on 5th Avenue. The other vehicle backed into her vehicle. A voluntary statement was made.
4:28 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a male shoplifter. Officers cited the male subject for retail theft.
5:05 PM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident at an area business on Neva Road. There were no injuries. Property damage only. A voluntary statement was made.
5:13 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject on 7th Avenue reporting that someone might have punctured the gas tank on her car and also tampered with the gas cap on her daughter’s van. There were no witnesses. Gas was leaking from the female subject’s car. Officers believed that this incident may have stemmed from a civil issue. A written statement was completed.
Tuesday, August 2nd
4:54 AM A female subject came to the Safety Building with a stray dog that she found at City Park. The dog was taken to the Humane Society.
9:13 AM Officers responded to a three car accident at Forrest Avenue and Superior Street. Vehicle One was eastbound on Forrest Avenue from the stop sign attempting to cross S. Superior Street. Vehicle Two was northbound on Superior Street in the outside lane. Vehicle Three was stopped at the stop sign on Forrest Avenue at S. Superior Street facing west. Vehicle Two was unable to avoid Vehicle One & they collided. Vehicle One then pushed into Vehicle Three.
12:18 PM Officers responded to a call reporting that a hound dog was tangled up at a residence on Lincoln Street. The dog was very tangled. Officers freed the dog and left a note on the door for the owner to call them.
3:08 PM Officers received a call from an employee of an area business on 5th Avenue reporting that they had video of a subject stealing a $5.99 bottle of vodka last week. Officers were following up.
5:25 PM Officers received a call from a female subject on Watson Street reporting that she received a suspicious phone call from a Hispanic male who said that he was from the IRS. He requested her name and address. She refused to give it to him. The male call then became upset and said that he planted a bomb in her backyard and it would “boom” tonight. She knew that it was a scam, but the female was still shook up.
Wednesday, August 3rd
9:55 AM Officers responded to a call reporting that a dog was tied outside on Spanish Fort and had been barking nonstop. The dog was barking when officers arrived. The owner was advised that if they received any more complaints, she would be cited.
1:13 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject on Elm Street reporting that an emblem was stolen off of his Harley and the headlight was busted the night before. Officers took photos and partial prints were taken from the air filter cover.
1:19 PM Officers responded to a call from the owner of an area business on Superior Street requesting an officer to check on an attempted entry into a machine and a locked back room. A back storage room door was pried open. A machine was damaged and an attempt was made to open a coin machine. The owner of the business requested an extra patrol.
2:49 PM Officers responded to a hit and run accident at an area business on Neva Road. The striking vehicle left northbound on Hwy. 45. It was described as a red Chevy extended cab pickup truck with white lettering on the doors. The vehicle that was struck had minor damage to the rear driver’s side tail light.
5:08 PM Officers received a call from a female subject on 6th Avenue reporting that her vehicle was egged while it was parked in the driveway overnight between 9:30 PM on 8/2/16 and 8:00 AM on 8/3/16. There was damage to the paint. The female also told officers that her vehicle was keyed approximately one month ago, and she did not report it. There were no suspects. Officers were advised.
5:35 PM Officers received a call from a male subject on Ackley Street reporting a vehicle theft. He reported to officers that his girlfriend told him that the vehicle had been stolen and was then found in a field. He had not given anyone permission to drive the vehicle.
6:50 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 4th Avenue and Superior Street. The female driver was issued a citation for speed.
11:11 PM Officers arrested a male subject at 5th Avenue and Edison Street for possession of meth with intent to deliver.
Thursday, August 4th
11:27 AM Officers responded to a request from an area business on Hwy. 64 to view some video of a shoplifter. Officers identified the subject. A citation for theft was mailed to the male subject.
12:48 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Mendlik Avenue and Saratoga Street. The driver was issued citations for failure to fasten seat belt and failure to yield from a stop sign.
3:11 PM Officers received a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a gas drive off that occurred about five minutes earlier. The vehicle was described as a newer, black Ford four door pickup that left westbound on Hwy. 64. The male driver left without paying for $41.62 worth of gas. Officers were advised.
5:35 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject on Clermont Street reporting that several times yesterday and that day, a male in his early to mid-40’s had come over and ran up and down the stairs. The man had been yelling and screaming and said that he was going to kill her cat. The man was shirtless and rode a red and silver bike. Officers told the female to call if he came back. Officers went by several times, but did not see the male subject.
5:43 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Morse Street The driver was issued a citation for speed.
Friday, August 5th
2:44 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Charlotte Street and Steinfest Road. Officers issued a citation for expired registration.
8:54 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a male shoplifter. Officers cited the male subject for retail theft.
11:55 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Dorr Street and 4th Avenue. The driver was issued a citation for operating while suspended, 8th offense and was given warnings for registration and display of power.
4:51 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report that he cashed a fraudulent check and was now out $1,500. The subject was selling something and received a check for more than the amount owed. He was told to send a portion to the shipper and keep the extra for his trouble. The subject then received a second check from a business in San Francisco, California for $1,450. The male subject called this business. They had no idea what he was talking about, and they told the male subject that they had received about twenty other similar calls.
Saturday, August 6th
2:55 AM Officers responded to a call from and area business on 5th Avenue reporting that a silver truck was parked in front of the business and it was not supposed to be. Officers issued a citation.
8:01 AM A female subject came to the Safety Building to report that her son’s vehicle was egged again on Milton Street. She stated that there were egg cartons and eggs all over her yard. This was the sixth time his car had been egged. There were no witnesses. The egg cartons were from an area business. The business will be looking over their video footage. An extra patrol was asked for.
11:41 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting a two vehicle accident in their parking lot. Property damage only.
1:50 PM Officers received a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that they were scammed out of payment for some rooms. A male subject gave them some credit card information, but it was declined. They were also unsure if they had gotten any contact information or a copy of his driver’s license. The loss was $109.99. The subject was described as a white male, in his 40’s, 5’8” tall, 200 lbs., with a mustache, beard and brown hair. He had a scar from his nose to his lip on the left side of his face. He was wearing jeans and a green shirt.
Sunday, August 7th
1:07 AM Officers were out with a subject at the corner of 5th Avenue and Edison Street. The subject was mailed a citation for open intoxicants.
2:37 AM Officers were out with a subject on Edison Street. The subject was cited for open intoxicants.
11:51 AM Officers responded to a call from a subject reporting that they found a knife in the grass in the back parking lot of an area business on Neva Road. Officers picked up the knife and placed it into evidence.
3:07 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that a shoplifter took off in a black SUV going eastbound on Hwy. 64. The male subject was wearing a white t-shirt & a black hat. He was with a female with reddish long hair. Officers were unable to locate.
3:51 PM Officers responded to several calls about a small red truck squealing its tires. Officers stopped the vehicle on Neva Road. Officers warned the male driver about his driving habits and he was warned that he would be cited if it happened again.
10:20 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Cherry Street. The driver was warned for an expired driver’s license and a defective head lamp.
Monday, August 8th
2:44 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting suspicious activity. A male and two females had been outside for 10 to 15 minutes. The male and one female told officers that they were looking for a relative. Officer sent them on their way. Officers arrested the second female subject on a Langlade County warrant and for drug paraphernalia.
6:29 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Fulton Street. The driver was issued a citation for speed.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, August 3rd
7:58 PM Officers responded to an anonymous caller reporting that a male subject was parked at the Neva Lake boat landing on Neva Lake Road and the subject appeared to be either intoxicated on under the influence of something. The subject was by a large, older brown car and he had a white dog with him. Officers later requested backup because the subject was not complying. The male subject was arrested on two counts of resisting/obstructing, operating without a license and was transported to jail. The vehicle was towed and the dog was taken to the Humane Society.
Thursday, August 4th
9:55 AM A male subject came to the Safety Building to make a fraud complaint. He reported to officers that his debit card was used on his account. It had been used in Shawano and Marinette counties.
1:36 PM Officers responded to several reports of a red vehicle off of the roadway and lying on its top on the south side of Hwy. 64, east of Elton. The male driver was issued a citation for inattentive driving. The vehicle was towed.
7:30 PM Officers responded to a report of an accident. One vehicle was off the road south of Sugarbush Road, south of Hwy. 47. The vehicle was towed. The male driver was cited for operating without a license and no insurance.
Friday, August 5th
11:36 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on Cty. Rd. S & Hwy. 64. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense, cited for failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign and left of center.
Tuesday, August 9th
2:32 PM Officers received a call from the Antigo Fire Department reporting that one of their employees noticed cows on the roadway on Cty. Rd. C on their way to work. Officers contacted the animals’ owner. He told officers that he would get the cows back in the fence. Officers later received a call from the owner stating that he saw two wolves and shot one with a .22 and the other wolf took off. He told officers that he would call back and talk to the DNR.
Wednesday, August 10th
6:54 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that his storage unit on Hwy. 45 was broken into. The subject(s) took his stuff out of the unit and had it piled by the woods with a sheet over it. It was believed that they were coming back for it. Officers believed that the reporting person may have spooked the subject(s) off. A bicycle was left behind. It was discovered that another unit was also entered.
