Antigo Police and Langlade Co. Sheriff Reports for 10/24/16
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, October 10th
12:33 PM Officers cited a juvenile male with disorderly conduct for having a pocket knife at the homecoming football game and getting in an altercation with other students.
1:51 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Lincoln Street reporting vandalism. She told officers that a tall plant in her yard was chopped down and her neighbor’s bush was damaged a few days ago. Officers observed that the plant was obviously chopped down and the neighbor’s bush was pulled out of the ground. The caller told officers who she thought might be responsible. Officers told the female that they would watch the neighborhood.
2:23 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that a male subject that appeared intoxicated parked his vehicle on Superior Street in front of another area business and went inside. Officers arrested the male driver for operating while intoxicated, 3rd offense.
2:43 PM Officers responded to a call reporting that a small white Chevy vehicle went through a stop sign at 10th Avenue and Superior Street. The caller told officers the license plate number. Officers advised the suspect of the complaint.
4:42 PM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident on Aurora Street. The male driver of a Chevy truck backed into the female driver of a Chevy Cruze. Minor damage only.
Tuesday, October 11th
9:07 AM Officers responded to a call from the landlord of an apartment building on Washington Avenue reporting that they were having problems with two previous female tenants who had entered the apartment again. They had turned the furnace on, turned the water on in the bathtub and the kitchen and bathroom sinks, and they brought in garbage and dumped it in the middle of the living room. Officers attempted to contact the female subjects, but they did not receive a call back. Officers would tell the subjects that if they did return, they would be arrested.
8:53 PM Officers arrested a female subject on Dorr Street on two Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrants for failure to appear for retail theft and for failure to pay a fine for operating without a license.
Wednesday, October 12th
8:16 AM Officers referred a juvenile for disorderly conduct at the Antigo Middle School.
8:17 AM Officers referred a juvenile for criminal damage to or graffiti on religious or other property at the Antigo Middle School.
8:19 AM Officers referred a juvenile for theft for stealing another phone at the Antigo Middle School.
8:21 AM Officers referred a juvenile for disorderly conduct at the Antigo Middle School on 10/10/16.
4:04 PM Officers received a call from an individual who collected donation jugs for an area organization reporting that the jug was missing from an area business on Neva Road. The loss was approximately $50-60. Officers were advised.

6:02 PM Officers arrested a subject at an area business on 5th Avenue on two Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrants and failure to report to jail. The subject was transported to Corrections.
9:34 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on Edison Street. The male driver was arrested on a warrant for failure to pay fine for retail theft and was cited for operating while suspended and failure to register a vehicle.
Thursday, October 13th
1:48 pm Officers responded to a call from a female reporting problems with a possible squatter at a residence on 5th Avenue. Officers charged the male subject at the residence with damage and trespassing.
4:21 PM Officers responded to a Department of Corrections request to pick up a male subject on Deleglise Street on a warrant that they just issued. The male subject left out the back door when officers arrived. There was a foot chase and the male subject was found in the woods hiding on the ground behind a tree. He was transported to Corrections.
Friday, October 14th
6:36 AM Officers responded to a 911 call reporting that a sedan was eastbound on 5th Avenue from Sunset Drive traveling extremely slow and in the wrong lane. The caller then saw the driver suddenly get in the right lane and take off, still eastbound on 5th Avenue. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
1:26 PM Officers responded to a call from an area establishment on Clermont Street reporting that a knife was found in the bathroom. The homemade knife was collected and placed into evidence.
2:05 PM Drug paraphernalia was found in the back seat of a squad car while it was being repaired at an area business. The back seat was taken out and a spoon with residue on it and a small baggie with a few flakes of marijuana in it were found. The items were brought to the Safety Building and disposed of.
2:32 PM Officers cited a male juvenile for disorderly conduct for an incident at the Antigo Middle School on 10/12/16.
9:12 PM Officers responded to a call from the Antigo Fire Department reporting an accident at 5th Avenue and Clermont Street. Property damage only. A state report was filed.
Saturday, October 15th
8:34 AM Officers responded to a call about an abandoned bicycle left up against a fence on Lincoln Street for the past two day. It was a purple/grey K2 boy’s mountain bike. It was taken to the impound.
1:52 PM Officers responded to information that two people were in the back parking lot of an establishment on 5th Avenue, sleeping in a vehicle. Officers advised the subjects to move along.
6:42 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at North Avenue and Charlotte Street. The driver was cited for speed. The passenger was cited for a seatbelt violation.
7:08 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at North Avenue and Charlotte Street. The driver was issued a citation for speed.
9:21 PM Officers stopped a 10th Avenue and S. Superior Street. The driver was cited for false registration and failure to carry a driver’s license.
9:46 PM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of an area business on Neva Road. Property damage only. A state report was filed.
Sunday, October 16th
1:08 AM Officers were out with four juveniles at the skate park, three males and one female. They were given their last warning about curfew.
1:47 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Willard Avenue. The driver was cited for no insurance and was given a ten day written warning for an expired driver’s license.
1:57 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on 7th Avenue reporting that she could hear someone trying her door. Officers arrested a male subject for disorderly conduct and bail jumping.
5:13 PM A female subject came to the Safety Building to report that her son’s bike was stolen on 2nd Avenue sometime since 10/15/16. It was a black/orange Mongoose BMX bike with five spoke rims, diamond shape hand grips, black pegs on the front and back, and silver hand brakes.
5:25 PM Officers received a 911 call from a female on Larisa Lane reporting that a beige car knocked over her mailbox almost to the ground and drove off. Officers were advised.
10:57 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign. An educational pamphlet was given to them.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Thursday, October 13th
6:46 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that he was involved a three car accident on 10/7/16 at about 3:30pm at the intersection of Hwy. 52 and Hwy. 55. He told officers that he stopped for a flag lady, behind a truck. While stopped, a car came from behind and hit the back of his vehicle which pushed him into the truck in front of him. The caller gave officers the name, address and phone number of the female subject who hit his car from behind. The truck in front of the caller’s vehicle had no damage. The female subject told the caller that they didn’t need to call the sheriff’s office, that he could just get an estimate of the damage. Now the female subject thought that the estimate was too high. The caller stated that he had damage to the front bumper and the rear of the vehicle. The estimate was $3,500. A state report was mailed to the subject.
Friday, October 14th
3:22 PM Officers responded to a call reporting a motorcycle versus pickup truck accident at the top of Kettlebowl Hill on Hwy. 52. The motorcycle driver was lying on the side of the road injured. Officers received a second call from a female, an EMT with Pickerel Rescue, that was helping the injured motorcycle driver. He was conscious, but in a great deal of pain. Aspirus Medivac flew to the scene to transport the male subject. The other vehicle, a Ford truck, had two passengers. Both were wearing seatbelts and the airbags had been deployed. 10/16/16 9:00 AM Officers called the hospital and were informed that the male subject was doing quite well, but had a lot of broken bones. An accident report was completed and a citation was issued for driving too fast for conditions.
Saturday, October 15th
10:50 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting a missing camper. The male subject owned property at the corner of Cty Rd. J and Black Oak Road, Deerbrook. He had three campers there. One of them, a 13’ Blue Manorette camper was missing. The camper was last seen 3-4 weeks ago. It was baby blue in color and had an estimated worth of $500. Officers noted there were no tracks at the scene, so the camper must have been moved before the last rain. The camper had been posted on Craigslist approximately ten days ago. The owner had gotten 7-8 inquiries about it. Their realtor had also contacted someone about removing it. The caller had tried to contact the realtor to see if this person removed the camper. The caller told officers that he would update them once he received this information.
2:01 PM Officers responded to a call from a passing motorist reporting that a red truck was up against a tree and unoccupied north of Hwy. K on Post Lake Drive, past the first curve. It had severe damage. 2:30 PM Officers met with the owner/driver of the truck. He was cited for inattentive driving. A state report was completed.
Sunday, October 16th
12:49 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Clover Road and Hwy. 64. The male driver was arrested for possession of marijuana and was given a ten day correction notice for a broken headlamp and an expired license. He was transported to Corrections.
Monday, October 17th
3:23 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that his vehicle was missing. He had parked on Ada Lake Road, while he went into the woods for about four hours looking for ginseng. When he came out, the vehicle was gone. It was a 2015 Ford F150 truck. He had left the keys in a cooler in the back of the truck. 4:20 PM The vehicle was located on fire near Rose Lake Road and Sawyer Lake Road.
4:21 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject near Rose Lake Road and Sawyer Lake Road reporting that when he went out in the woods to go hunting, he found a suspicious truck on fire in the woods. No one was around. The caller gave officers directions to the scene. The remains of the truck were towed.
Tuesday, October 18th
11:32 AM Officers received a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 reporting that a female subject that was in the business stole an item. The female subject refused to show the business the inside of her purse and left the store. The caller gave officers the license plate number of the female subject’s vehicle. The female subject was described as in her 30’s, very heavy set with lots of ear piercings. Later officers received another call from the business reporting that they had spoken with the shopkeeper next door and the female subject had stolen something from that business also.
5:09 PM Officers responded to an anonymous report of an older Black Chevy pickup that was swerving on Hwy. 64 and turned northbound onto Clover Road right in front of an oncoming car. Officers received a second call reporting similar information. The caller gave officers the license plate number of the vehicle. The male driver was written for re-exam.
5:31 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he was involved in a two vehicle accident at Mytas Road and Church Street. There were no injuries and no wrecker was needed.
6:51 PM Officers responded to a report of a subject on a three wheel bike, just north of the city limits, in the northbound lane on Hwy. 45. It only had an orange triangle on the back. Officers located the female subject who stated that she was on her way home from work. Officers advised her that she needed to get lights if she would be out riding that late.
Wednesday, October 19th
9:54 AM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting fraudulent charges on his credit card. The subject’s bank statement showed charges for items that he had never ordered. The credit card company had already credited his account for those charges.
