ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, December 26th
10:59 AM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that someone was attempting to break into her apartment on Lincoln Street again. She told officers that her safety alarm on the door had gone off. She told officers that she believed a certain male subject was at the back door and opened the deadbolt with a key, but she did not see him. The female subject told officers that she was going to leave the apartment and stay with a relative. At approximately 11:30am, officers checked the area. They did not see the male subject’s vehicle. There was no answer at the female’s door and the deadbolt was locked. They left a message with the female to call officers back.
6:43 PM Officers received a call from a female subject on Badger Avenue requesting a ride to the store from officers to get cigarettes. Officers informed the female that they do not do that. They offered to give the female subject the phone number for the transit system, but she refused. She told officers that she may end up “whacking” herself, and it was a matter of life or death. Officers told the female that she needed to get a ride from someone else.
7:02 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a noise complaint at an apartment on Charlotte Street. The caller told officers that this had been going on for months. He said that he had told the management of the apartment building about it, but nothing was being done. The caller told officers that it sounded like someone was destroying the place by throwing furniture and there was a lot of yelling. Officers found out that some subjects were playing with air soft guns. Officers could smell marijuana. A male subject handed over a small amount to officers.
11:05 PM Officers responded to a call from a male at an apartment building on 5th Avenue reporting a lot of noise coming from one of the apartments. Officers talked to a male and female subject who stated that they were in the process of moving. They were now done for the night. They were advised of the complaint.
11:50 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 7th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was cited for operating while suspended and was warned for a defective head light.
Tuesday, December 27th
10:39 AM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report that a vehicle struck his vehicle while it was parked in the lot of an area business on Jerome Street. The striking vehicle was unknown. A state voluntary report was filed.
1:06 PM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident at 5th Avenue and Superior Street. Vehicle 2 was stopped at a red light behind a van, southbound on Superior Street. Vehicle 1 was behind Vehicle 2. When the light turned green, the van did not move so Vehicle 2 did not move. Vehicle 1 thought that Vehicle 2 was moving, and hit Vehicle 2. Property damage only. There were no injuries.
Wednesday, December 28th
3:26 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a noise complaint at an apartment building on Charlotte Street. She told officers that there was a lot of banging and loud music playing. Officers advised a male subject of the complaint and told him that any further complaints would result in a citation.
10:23 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on 5th Avenue reporting that they took a counterfeit $100 bill on 12/27/16 at 7:28 PM. The suspects were described as a thin female with black hair and a male subject driving a Chevy extended cab truck. The bill was logged into evidence. The business was able to give officers photos of the subjects. The subjects were identified. Officers left a message with the two subjects. The male subject called officers back. The male subject and an officer returned to the area business with a real $100 bill. The female subject was to speak with officers on 12/31/16.
2:18 PM Officers responded to an anonymous complaint of a junk vehicle at a residence on Hudson Street. A letter was sent to the vehicle owner.
6:05 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and Forrest Avenue. The driver was cited for an expired registration.
6:48 PM Officers responded to several 911 calls reporting that a vehicle ran into a porch at a residence on S. Superior Street. The vehicle was westbound on Freiburger Avenue, was unable to stop and slid through the intersection, over the curb and a snowbank, down a sidewalk and struck the front porch railing and steps of a home. The vehicle was towed. At 25 MPH, the responding officers had no problem stopping at the intersection. The driver was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
9:41 PM Officers responded to a report of a disturbance at an area business on 5th Avenue. The disturbance was verbal only.
Thursday, December 29th
12:46 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting people making noise at a residence on 1st Avenue. A male subject was told to keep it down and was advised that any more complaints would result in a citation.
1:00 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Elm Street. The driver was issued a 10 day written warning for an expired registration and was given a warning for having no insurance.
1:09 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 8th Avenue. The driver was issued a written warning for having the driver’s window obstructed.
6:15 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 7th Avenue. The driver was issued a citation for violation of driving restrictions.
8:41 AM Officers responded to a call from an area church on 5th Avenue reporting that they found two bags of garbage in their dumpster. The caller gave officers the name of a female subject that was found on some of the items in the garbage. Officers spoke with the female subject. She was told to remove the garbage from the dumpster and she was advised that if it happened again that she would be cited.
11:43 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road requesting assistance for a disgruntled male guest who had slipped and fallen outside earlier and needed an ambulance. The male subject was assisted out of the business and into his vehicle. He was advised by officers that if he was not happy with the service at the business, he should not return. The male subject agreed.
1:17 PM Officers issued a citation to a female subject for the theft of library materials. The loss amount was $84.72.
1:21 PM Officers issued a citation to a female subject for the theft of library materials. The loss amount was $125.61.
1:23 PM Officers issued a citation to a female subject for the theft of library materials. The loss amount was $265.82.
1:25 PM Officers issued a citation to a male subject for the theft of library materials. The loss amount was $49.70.
1:26 PM Officers issued a citation to a female subject for the theft of library materials. The loss amount was $54.99.
1:27 PM Officers issued a citation to a female subject for the theft of library materials. The loss amount was $38.97.
1:28 PM Officers issued a citation to a female subject for the theft of library materials. The loss amount was $34.20.
5:29 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a male shoplifter that was trying to get away. The male subject was described as wearing a white hoodie and wearing a blue and white stocking cap. He was leaving in a dark blue Ranger type vehicle. Officers cited the male subject for retail theft and operating without a license, 3rd offense. A probation hold was also authorized on the subject.
10:35 PM Officers received a call from a local gas station on Neva Road reporting an intentional gas drive off of $8. The vehicle was described as a dark blue Pontiac G6. The caller gave officers the license plate number. The male subject had paid $9 up front, but then pumped $17 worth of gas. The subject then tried to use a card, but it did not work. He then left. Officers found out that the vehicle was registered to a male subject from West Allis. Officers left a message with the male subject to call them back.
11:09 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 3rd Avenue. The driver was given a 10 day written warning for an expired registration.
11:18 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was cited for failure to fasten seatbelt.
11:36 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Aurora Street. The driver was given a written warning for failure to stop at a stop sign.
Friday, December 30th
12:38 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 9th Avenue. The driver was issued a 7 day written notice for expired registration.
2:18 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he dropped off two friends at an apartment complex on North Avenue. Both male subjects were very intoxicated. The one male subject started walking off and the caller was now concerned since it was so cold out. Officers located the male subject behind an area business on Hwy. 64. He was turned back over to his friend on Mendlik Avenue.
6:10 AM Officers received a call from an area gas station on S. Superior Street reporting that at 5:26 AM a male subject pumped $30 worth of gas but was only able to pay $15 in cash. The male subject’s card did not work. He told the clerk that he would be right back with the rest of the money, but he did not return. The male subject was driving a silver car. The business was getting video of the incident for officers.
6:56 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on Forrest Avenue reporting that she had just stepped outside on her porch and could hear someone calling for help. She was unable to tell exactly where it was coming from. She told officers that she heard it six times prior to calling and once while on the phone with dispatch. She could not tell if it was a male or female. Officers checked the area. All was quiet.
6:02 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that a customer dropped off a zip lock bag containing drugs. Officers suspected it was methamphetamine. It was logged into evidence for disposal.
7:02 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 2nd Avenue and Arctic Street. The drive was given a written warning for no proof of insurance and a warning for their headlight and taillight.
7:54 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that a male subject who was either very intoxicated or on drugs attempted to buy alcohol. The caller refused to sell it to the male subject who then sped off in an early 90’s Chevy S10 truck that was blue and silver in color with a camper. Squads were advised and checked the area, but were unable to locate the male subject.
11:05 PM Officers responded to a call reporting that there were three trucks racing in a field on Charlotte Street. One truck was described as black and one was bluish green. Officers were unable to locate any vehicles or suspects, but tracks were seen where they had been.
11:40 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Cty. Rd. Y and Western Avenue. The driver was warned about driving through the field on Charlotte Street earlier that evening.
Saturday, December 31st
12:07 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he put his Maroon Grand Marquis in the ditch across from an area business on Prosser Place. The vehicle was drivable, but he needed a tow truck to get it out of the ditch. The male subject was cited for failure to keep the vehicle under control.
1:22 AM Officers responded to a 911 call from a female who was out of breath and saying something about one of her male relatives. She was located on 10th Avenue. Before dispatch could get any more information, the caller disconnected and did not answer on a call back. Officers arrested the male subjects for disorderly conduct.
2:29 AM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that he put his Chevy Trailblazer in the ditch at the intersection of North Avenue and Charlotte Street. The caller was now at home. A towing company was contacted.
1:19 PM Officers responded to a traffic complaint of a male driver in a black Nissan Altima all over the roadway on Cty. Rd. F. The vehicle then pulled into the walk in clinic parking lot. The male subject was in the emergency room. Officers were informed that the male subject had eaten a handful of rat poison two days earlier, when he was intoxicated and looking for some candy. The male subject was cited for operating while suspended.
7:19 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he was punched in the face by a female subject that was high on Vicodin while he was at an address on Memory Lane. There were no weapons and the male subject declined medical attention. The female subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and the male caller was referred for domestic disorderly conduct.
8:56 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 7th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was cited for speed.
9:44 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 2nd Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was given a 10-day warning for expired registration and was cited for no proof of insurance.
Sunday, January 1st
12:20 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject on 1st Avenue who advised them that there was beating on the walls coming from the apartment of a female subject. There was no screaming, but the caller did not know what was going on. 12:27 AM The male caller stated that now the female subject was vacuuming and won’t answer the door. Officers advised him that they would attempt to make contact, but couldn’t break down her door because she was vacuuming. The caller said “I can” and then hung up. While waiting for the male subject to answer the door, officers could smell marijuana coming from inside. The male subject handed officers his pipe and marijuana after asking him how much he had to smoke that night. The male caller was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
12:26 AM Officers responded to an anonymous tip that a female subject that was on probation was drinking at an area business on Edison Street. Officers arrested the female subject on a probation hold and she was transported to Corrections.
1:36 AM Officers responded to a call from a female from an area business on Edison Street that there was a disturbance. Several people were yelling in the background. There were no weapons. An employee had a drink thrown on them by a female subject. The female subject was outside sitting on the pavement when officers arrived. While there, the female subject hit her head on the building and on the pavement. She was transported to Langlade hospital. The employee of the business did not want to press any charges.
2:25 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Edison Street requesting an ambulance to the rear of the business for a male subject bleeding from the head after being struck with something. Officers found out that the male subject was hit after getting too friendly with another male subject’s girlfriend. The male subject then hit his head on a gaming machine and fell to the floor. The male subject was transported to the hospital.
4:11 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a vehicle up on a snowbank in front of a business on Field Street. She told officers that a male subject was getting out of the truck. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The vehicle was towed.
6:08 AM Officers responded to a call reporting an occupied vehicle in the snowbank by a light pole on 10th Avenue. The female driver was trying to get out of the vehicle. The Antigo Fire Department was checking the female subject for injuries. The female subject was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense. The subject had also hit a mailbox.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, December 28th
5:30 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he slid into the ditch at Parkway Road and Flight Road. There was minor damage to the vehicle. The male driver was cited for inattentive driving. The vehicle was towed.
Thursday, December 29th
2:19 PM Officers responded to a call from an area towing company reporting that they were notified by the insurance company of a female subject that a truck needed to be towed because of a truck vs. tree accident at Sherry Road and Oak Road. Officers talked with the female driver. She told officers that she struck the tree around 9:30 AM. Officers warned the female about failing to notify law enforcement and she was advised that she could fill out a report if the insurance company required one.
3:30 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a red Ford vehicle in the ditch on Hwy. 64. There was no one around. A male subject then called to report that he was the person that went into the ditch on Hwy. 64. He was advised by officers to have the vehicle removed by 9:00 AM. The male subject was cited for operating while suspended and non-registration. 12/30/16 11:09 AM The vehicle was still in the ditch. The vehicle was towed and held for payment.
Friday, December 30th
11:39 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that his daughter was involved in a one car rollover accident on Ackley Road. There were no injuries. A state report was completed. The vehicle was towed.
3:34 PM Officers responded to a one vehicle rollover accident on W. Bear Lake Road. The vehicle was on its roof. A female subject was trapped inside. The driver was not injured.
Saturday, December 31st
5:14 AM Officers responded to a call from the Langlade County Highway Department reporting two vehicles in the ditch at Hwy. 64 and Cty. Rd. BB. Both vehicles were towed.
9:48 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 reporting a retail theft caught on camera. A male customer inadvertently left his wallet on the counter of the business. Security footage showed that the next customer, a male subject, grabbed the wallet and put it in his coat pocket. The business gave officers the name of the male subject. The male subject was referred to the district attorney for retail theft. The owner of the wallet was later contacted by another area business on Hwy. 45 reporting that the male subject’s wallet was found in their parking lot, minus $175 in cash.
3:34 PM Officers responded to a one vehicle rollover accident on Cty. Rd. C. The vehicle was off of the road. There were no injuries.
