Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff’s Office Reports for 5/29/17
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Tuesday, May 16th
1:00 PM Officers responded to call from East Elementary School reporting a male first grade student that was out of control. The student was hitting staff members. When officers arrived, the male student was calm and sorry for his actions. He was taken to the office to wait for his grandmother. He was suspended for one day.
4:42 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that she just backed into a motorcycle in the parking lot of an area business on Superior Street. She was cited for no insurance.
Wednesday, May 17th
1:31 PM Officers received a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that they had been having problems with items missing from their lot. They told officers that they were missing some window tags from cars. They also had a Mustang that was missing a shift knob and the keys were stolen. They requested an extra patrol.
2:24 PM Officers received a call from a female on North Avenue reporting that there was a male subject at her door about five minutes prior. He was asking her if she had any old televisions or electronics that she wanted to get rid of. She told him no. She then checked with neighbors to see if the male subject had stopped at their houses, but she found out that he hadn’t stopped anywhere else. She told officers that he was driving a newer model, black Cadillac. He was described as in his early 30’s, skinny, with brown hair, a goatee, wearing sunglasses, jeans & he smoked cigars.
3:05 PM Officers responded to several calls reporting a two vehicle accident at the Antigo High School. A state report was completed.
4:34 PM Officers received a call from a female on Neva Road reporting a small child out walking in the rain on the side of the road just north of her house. The six year old boy said that he was going to an area restaurant on Neva Road. No one was with him. The caller brought the boy to the Safety Building. Officers found out that the boy left his house on Pine Street because he was hungry and was going to walk to his grandma’s. He walked all the way to restaurant in the pouring rain until the caller talked to him. Officers got ahold of the father’s girlfriend who was frantically looking for the boy when she realized he was gone. Officers gave the boy some dry clothes and a blanket. The female subject picked the boy up at the Safety Building.
Thursday, May 18th
6:59 AM Officers were out with a young boy from Pine Street who apparently wandered off again, as he had done on a previous afternoon.
1:31 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that his vehicle was struck in the parking lot while he was shopping in an area business on Hwy. 64. There was damage to the back bumper, but the vehicle was drivable. It was unknown who hit the vehicle. It was entered as a hit and run.
5:08 PM Officers received a call from a female on Virginia Street reporting that on 5/16 at approximately 5:00 PM, she and her daughter were out in the yard. She ran into the house to get something and came back out to see an unknown male subject walking up the side of her yard towards her toddler daughter. As soon as he saw the female, the male subject took one more step, then turned and walked away. The male subject was described as 5’ 11”, skinny wearing black shorts and a sweatshirt.
9:58 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 47 for going 76 MPH in a 55 zone. The male driver then advised officers that he was on his way to his girlfriend’s residence on Pine Street because she had snapchatted him saying that she was going to kill herself. Officers talked with the female. She told officers that she was not suicidal and that the male subject was probably just trying to get out of a ticket. He was cited for speed, operating while suspended and texting while driving.
Friday, May 19th
10:23 AM Officer responded to a call from a female subject reporting that she just backed into a car in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. There was a scratch near the passenger side headlight of the other vehicle.
4:42 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a green Mazda was driving recklessly on Superior Street between 1st Avenue and 5th Avenue, using the center lane as a passing lane and changing into different lanes at least three times. The vehicle then pulled into the lot of an area business on Superior Street. The caller gave officers the license plate number. The driver was described as a younger, heavy set, dark haired male subject. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
5:40 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 that was holding two shoplifters. The male and female subjects were cited for retail theft.
8:02 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that two male subjects were there trying to get change for a fake $100 bill. One male subject was wearing a black sweater and black shorts. The other male subject was wearing black pants with a hoodie and a white t-shirt that was hanging out. Officers were checking the store video.
Saturday, May 20th
8:40 AM Officers responded to a call from a male calling to report that he was almost struck by a car at Smith Avenue and Pine Street when that vehicle ran through a yield sign. The vehicle was described as a red Toyota with a male driver in his 60’s wearing glasses. Officers talked with the male driver at his residence on Superior Street. He told officers that his vehicle was a manual and he had a problem with the clutch at that intersection.
1:29 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that someone was swearing at a small child at City Park and there were several witnesses. Officers received a second call from another female subject reporting that the other female subject who called officers had grabbed her by the throat at the park. Officers found out that the second female was talking to a small girl and the first female started swearing and causing problems. The second female told her to leave and that is when the first female grabbed her by the throat. The second female subject was cited for disorderly conduct for yelling at a 15 year old and threatening to “kick her a**” loud enough for everyone in the park to hear. The first female subject was cited for disorderly conduct. A third female subject was also cited for disorderly conduct for pushing the first female subject while defending the second female subject.
7:39 PM Officers responded to a call from a female at an apartment complex on 5th Avenue reporting that her fiancé just witnesses another male subject from a neighboring apartment, naked and performing a sex act on the door across from his apartment. Officers received a second call from another female, who was told by her neighbors, that the male subject was by her apartment. Officers arrested the male subject for disorderly conduct.
Sunday, May 21st
2:47 AM Officers responded to a call from the Antigo Fire Department reporting that a male subject had walked up to their door seeking help after being assaulted in front of an area business on Edison Street. The male subject had severe facial injuries and was in and out of consciousness. He was transported to Langlade Hospital. The male subject told officers that the person that assaulted him was driving an orange Dodge Dart and he gave officers the name of the male subject. Officers located the vehicle at a residence on Elm Street. The male subject claimed that the other male owed him money. He admitted to punching him multiple times. He was arrested for battery.
11:49 AM Officers responded to a report of an oil fire on the stove at a residence on Center Street. A female subject in the apartment with her children was heating some oil to make dough balls. The oil spattered and started the wall on fire. A neighbor used a fire extinguisher to get most of the fire out. Officers were investigating.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, May 17th
3:32 PM Officers responded to a call from an employee of Elcho School reporting an altercation between two male students in front of the school. The assaulting male student was gone by the time officers arrived. Officers spoke with the male student and his father at their residence. He was counseled on his decisions and was advised that he would be cited for disorderly conduct.
Thursday, May 18th
11:34 AM Officers received a call from a female reporting fraudulent charges on her credit card. Five charges were made on her credit card on 5/15/17 in Milwaukee. Officers were investigating.
7:26 PM A female subject came to the Safety Building to follow up on a complaint that she filed earlier. Officers detected the strong odor of intoxicants on her breath. A sobriety test was performed. The female subject was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense. She was taken to Corrections.
Friday, May 19th
9:04 AM A female called to report fraudulent use of her credit card. She told officers that her credit card had been used at two businesses in Milwaukee. She had received a message from her bank’s fraud department and she needed to file a complaint. The bank had also told her that more charges were pending. She had already cancelled the credit card.
9:42 AM Officers received a call from a male reporting that he just hit a turkey on Hwy. 64 near Ackley Road, just inside Langlade County. He had headlight damage to his 2012 Chevy Sierra pickup.
10:08 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Cty. Rd. F and Meadow Road. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense. Another male subject was cited for open intoxicants.
Saturday, May 20th
1:32 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Mapleview Road. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated and possession of drug paraphernalia.
2:54 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a vehicle took out three mailboxes at the intersection of Cty. Rd. P and Cty. Rd. M and it was now in the ditch. The vehicle was towed and held. Once officers identified the driver, they were going to be cited for failure to notify police of an accident and hit and run.
8:32 PM Officers responded to a call reporting an erratic driver. The caller stated that the Suburban was northbound on Hwy. 45. It was maroon on the top and black on the bottom. The caller witnessed the vehicle passing in a no passing zone and ran another vehicle off the road. Officers stopped the vehicle on Neva Road. The male driver was warned about his driving habits.
Sunday, May 21st
7:29 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a rollover accident with property damage on Bass Lake Road. The male driver was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also cited for absolute sobriety, driving too fast for conditions and underage alcohol.
8:58 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a red Ford truck in the ditch on Knight Road. The vehicle was registered to a male subject from Pardeeville, WI. The vehicle was towed and held.
10:00 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a vehicle in the field on the east side of Langlade Road. The male driver was cited for texting and driving and inattentive driving. The vehicle was towed.
Monday, May 22nd
10:07 AM Officers received a call from a female in Milwaukee reporting that she had a cabin on Hickory Road and she hadn’t been there since October. Then on 5/19, she discovered that the garage had been broken into and she was missing several items including a riding lawn mower, a push mower and a chainsaw. She was going to send a complete list of the missing items to officers.
5:14 PM Officers received a call from a male reporting a fraudulent email. He told officers that the email was masked to look like it was coming from him to his finance person, requesting $19,500. No money was transferred. Officers were investigating.
10:06 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Hwy. 47 reporting that she woke up to dogs barking and she noticed that a vehicle with its headlights on and music blaring was in her driveway. She also heard door slamming. She then saw someone rummaging through her vehicle. The dark colored vehicle then left eastbound on Hwy. 47 towards Phlox. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle. The female caller stated that there was no damage and nothing was missing from her vehicle.
