Play & Learn September 21st 9:30-11am N4013 Hwy. 45, Antigo. Play & Learn is a weekly play group program for parents, caregivers and children from birth to age 5. Staff will provide a parent lesson, an activity for parents and children to do together. The activity will build skills for school readiness and milestone achievement. Quarterly Ages and Stages questionnaires are made available to parents and caregivers to assist families in helping their children to reach age based development milestones. St. Mary’s of the Lake – Speaker on Dementia September 21st 1pm St. Mary’s of the Lake Parish, Cty. Rd. F, Lakewood. St. Mary’s of the Lake will be hosting Brittany Warrichaiet, RN, BSN, a public health nurse with the Oconto County Department of Health & Human Services. She will be speaking on the Oconto County Public Health Department’s plans to provide support for those suffering with dementia and for their caregivers. Community Homecoming Pep Assembly September 21st 7pm (following the Powder Puff football playoffs) Schofield Stadium, 1399 5th Ave., Antigo. Come and support all of our fall athletes! AHS students, parents and community members are invited to participate. Cheering, class competitions, performances by the boys’ dance teams and other fun events will help us get fired up for Friday’s game! Students will be competing in a variety of games for spirit week points. Parents and community members may even be asked to join in, too! Concessions will be available.
9th Annual Carrie Damos Memorial Scholarship Ride September 22nd-24th horse trail at Clyde & Traci Kolpack residence, bordering the beautiful Nicolet Forest, N4481 Heise Rd., White Lake. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide and 18 Wisconsin communities, Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Big Woods 200 Dual Sport September 23rd-24th Riders meeting Saturday morning. Fairgrounds at Wabeno, 1800 Fairview Ave., Wabeno. The Big Woods 200 is a two-day dual sport motorcycle event. The Wisconsin Dual Sport Riders motorcycle club puts together an entertaining & challenging ride using scenic forest roads & two tracks. Many say that the best features of this ride are the many “hero” sections of single track trail on challenging terrain. Enjoy the fall colors as you ride through the forests. 2017 Walk to End Alzheimer’s September 23rd 9am Antigo Middle School, 815 7th Avenue, Antigo. Registration at 9am; Ceremony at 10am Walk to follow. The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s™ is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness & funds for Alzheimer’s care, support & research. Walkers can choose from a 1-mile or 3-mile route. Everyone is welcome to participate. There is no fee, but registration is required. Walkers raising $100 or more will receive a Walk to End Alzheimer’s t-shirt. Walkers are not required to raise funds but it is encouraged.
