Antigo Police and Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 6/27/16
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, June 13th
10:19 AM Officers responded to a two car accident at Neva Road and Center Street. Vehicle 2 was southbound on Neva Road in the inside lane. Vehicle 1 was attempting a left hand turn to go northbound on Neva Road from the parking lot of an area business. The driver of vehicle 1 looked both ways, didn’t see anyone and pulled out from the parking lot. Vehicle 1 struck vehicle 2 in passenger rear door and box. Vehicle 1 sustained damage to the front bumper, grill and both front fenders. There were no injuries. A state report was filed.
12:30 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 64 and N. Hogan Street. The driver was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.
1:45 PM A male subject reported at the Safety Building that someone siphoned half a tank of gas from his Dodge Dakota the night before. The vehicle was parked in his driveway. There were no suspects and nothing was left behind. The male also said that about two weeks earlier, someone egged his truck while it was parked on the street in front of his house. Officers were advised.
1:52 PM Officers were notified that a semi-truck knocked down the Willard Avenue sign at Neva Road. The Street Department was notified.
10:58 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject on 5th Avenue reporting that someone tried to get in his downstairs door and took out the screen. He believed that they climbed a pole outside and were now upstairs. Officers cleared the house and surrounding areas. No one was around.
Tuesday, June 14th
2:16 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Center Street. The driver was issued a ten day written correction for registration.
6:18 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Edison Street and 7th Avenue. The driver was cited for operating without a license.
4:53 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Lincoln Street. The driver was mailed a citation for operating without a license and was warned for improperly attached rear decals.
7:08 PM Officers received a call from a male subject on Hudson Street reporting that he had been receiving phone calls and texts stating that he had applied for a loan from four different companies. One company stated that someone applied for a loan with his name and phone number, but the birthdates did not match. The company was going to send the male subject some paperwork to report identity fraud. Officers told the male subject to deny any loans and to not give out any further information to these companies.
Wednesday, June 15th
9:35 AM Officers received five 911 hang-up calls from the same number. Officers found the subject who made the calls and warned/advised them of making calls.
12:21 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that they were holding two shoplifters. They were not being cooperative. Officers issued a citation to one of the subjects for retail theft.
1:33 PM Officers responded to call from an area business reporting that a vehicle stopped there with three children in the vehicle who were not buckled in. Officers stopped at the residence of the listed owner. A copy of the report was sent to the Department of Social Services.
Thursday, June 16th
12:46 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 45. The female driver was arrested on a Langlade County Sheriff Office warrant failure to pay fine, operating while suspended. The female was transported to corrections.
4:26 AM Officers received a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting a gas drive off that occurred on 6/10/16. A male subject pumped $10 worth of gas, but then couldn’t pay for it. He left his Missouri driver’s license and said that he would be back in a few minutes with the $10. He never returned. The male subject was mailed a citation for theft. There was also a criminal complaint to be served on the subject as well.
Friday, June 17th
2:24 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Freiburger Avenue. The driver was cited for failure to have passenger’s seat belted.
5:38 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Mendlik Avenue. The driver was issued a citation for speed.
1:12 PM Officer responded to a report of an accident in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. Property damage only. A voluntary accident report was filed.
8:08 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Washington Avenue. The driver was arrested on a warrant for failure to pay fine – retail theft.
8:46 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that her vehicle received damage today, while she was working at an area business on Hwy. 64 between 3 to 8pm. There was dent in her passenger rear quarter panel, a windshield wiper was taken and the passenger side tail light was busted. The business’s security will be looking at their cameras to see if anything recorded.
8:50 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject on 6th Avenue reporting finding pry marks on a door. He believed someone was trying to enter the house, when the tenants were not at home. Officers saw that an outside door that leads to the basement was pried open. Nothing was missing or disturbed.
Saturday, June 18th
7:59 AM Offices received a call reporting that a navy blue Chevy Colorado pickup truck was changing lanes northbound on S. Superior Street, when it slightly struck another truck & trailer that was also northbound in the right lane. That truck had to go up on the curb and sidewalk to try and avoid the blue pickup truck. Officer were advised.
9:35 AM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that at approximately 2:30 AM, a man walked into his house uninvited and said that he was looking for his dog. The trespasser was advised to leave by the homeowner. The subject did leave the house, but then sat in the skate park until after 3:00 AM yelling around. The caller requested an extra patrol. The caller stated that he did not report the incident at the time because he wanted to give the guy the benefit of the doubt because he was very intoxicated.
4:50 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 4th Avenue and Neva Road. The driver was issued a citation for speed.
5:17 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The male driver was issued a citation for speed.
7:24 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Deleglise Street and 1st Avenue. The driver was cited for expired registration and no proof of insurance and warned for head lamp and cracked windshield.
11:08 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject on Dorr Street reporting that a person kept knocking on the door and running off. She was unable to give officers a description. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area.
Sunday, June 19th
1:22 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Lincoln Street. The driver was issued a 10 day correction notice for an expired registration.
2:28 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and Irving Street. The driver was cited for speed, but given an education class pamphlet and warned for graduated driver’s license restrictions driving after midnight.
8:05 PM Officers responded to a report of retail theft at an area business on Hwy. 64. Two females were being held in the office. They were issued citations for retail theft.
10:50 PM Officers responded to a report of loud music at an apartment on Nantasket Street. Officers spoke with the female tenant and advised her that if officers returned that she would be issued a citation.
Monday, June 20th
6:07 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Edison Street. The driver was issued a citation for speed.
6:23 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Field Street. The driver was issued a citation for failure to wear a seatbelt.
6:36 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Deliglise Street and 5th Avenue. The driver was issued a written warning for speed.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Thursday, June 16th
12:37 PM Officers picked up a syringe lying on Mapleview Road, off of Pit Road.
5:48 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that a silver 4 door Volkswagen Jetta with teal rims with two male passengers was passing in a no passing zone and driving on the gravel also, on State Hwy. 45 and Now Road. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
Friday, June 17th
Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that a white Ford van was all over the road, southbound on St. Hwy. 45 from Knight Road. The van was stopped in front of an area business on Hwy. 45 in Antigo. The male driver admitted that he was on his cell phone. He was warned/advised by officers.
12:55 PM Officers received a call from a male subject from Green Bay reporting the theft of a trailer from his property on Hollister Lake Road. He stated that it happened sometime in the last six months. The trailer was taken from behind his mobile home. The trailer was not visible from the roadway. The subject had noticed that the rope tied across the driveway was down. The item taken was a 2003 Big Mas 5’x7’ landscape trailer. It was black, all metal, with drop down ramps. The item was valued at $500.
Saturday, June 18th
1:44 AM Officers were out with two vehicles at Summit Lake Beach, State Hwy. 45 in Summit Lake. A male was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and felony bail jumping.
6:43 PM Officers responded to a call from a passerby reporting a truck rolled over on St. Rd. 52 south of Cty. Rd. A, near the Forest County line. The male driver was out of the vehicle. He said that he was not injured and did not want an ambulance. There was another party on the scene with him. The vehicle was towed away. The driver was cited for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.
Monday, June 20th
11:19 AM Officers responded to a call reporting a one car rollover on Cty. S. The male driver was not hurt, but he could not get out his car.
Wednesday, June 22nd
2:08 AM Officers responded to a call from the Oneida County Sheriff’s office about a possible intoxicated driver. The driver was southbound on Hwy. 45 from Hwy. 8. The vehicle was described as a silver 4 door Chevy Blazer. It had hit the curb multiple times and also went into the ditch line. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
